Starting device, in particular for motors of motor boats
The object of the present invention is a starting or starting device, in particular for motors of cabts with Actor, which is controlled by means of a traction cord and which is automatically disengaged from the motor as soon as that = this begins to rotate.
To this end, the rope drum, normally maintained in the rest position by a spring, is connected by screw threads, engaging one in the other, to an embryo bath, which when starting is engaged with the crankshaft of the motor, but returned to the rest position after starting the motor, so that when the rope is released the starting device is returned by the spring to its initial position and the rope wraps around the drum again. The automatic clutch and release take place under the influence of an elastic braking device.
The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, shows in vertical section the starting device, according to this invention, in two embodiments, which differ from each other only by the clutch system. .

EMI2.1
On the upper end of the ELBOW shaft 4 of the outboard motor is fixed, ()) l1fo: rmén to 1 f..7., A sleeve 5, which carries the flywheel 6 of the engine and a bearing fi two l ' 8llE; ée "! Of balls 7, on which the hub 1 of a rope drum can easily turn 9. The rope drum, on 1eq \ Jel is wound at this start% 10, passing through an omrexture of the cover on the outside, is connected by a pin 11 to the external end of a spiral spring 12, fixed to the cover and tending to keep the drum in its position of the apO ':

EMI2.4
Ifs, embodiment shown in flg.2 is arranged in the same way. It differs from the previous embodiment only in the clutch system.
Indeed, instead of the cone clutch, here we use a toothed clutch 16, provided with small ratchet teeth, as 1o shows in fig.3
EMI2.5
The c: lze msJ setting or starting device works as follows:
By a strong pull on the end of the rope 10, coming out of the engine cover, the drum 9 will be put into rapid rotational movement, the clutch ring 13,

retained by the braking device 15, then immediately screwing down into the screw threads 17, closing the clutch II}. In this way, the flywheel 6 and the elbow shaft 4 are also set in motion for starting the engine. which results in a strong x tension of the spring 12 As soon as the engine is running, the clutch l opens automatically,
EMI2.7
because the clutch ring 13 is from the start entered! Ú.114-by the flywheel and screwed back.
When the rope 10 is then released, the spring 12 rotates the drum 9 in the opposite direction.

pours, the conid 10 being thus wound up again and the ring 13 continuing to screw back towards its initial position.
