<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

As soon as the system is tuned to a received signal, however, that signal is passed to the gate of the volume control tube and results in an increase in plate current thereof and therefore in the application of more voltage. negative at the grid of the amplifier tube S connected to resistor 53.
The stronger negative voltage applied to the grid * of the amplifier tube causes a decrease in the plate current of the latter and a decrease in the current in the relay winding.
This decrease in current allows the movable armature to contact the rear contact 41, which eliminates the short circuit of the loudspeaker speech coil and closes the circuit.

of the light source supplied by the winding 47.
If the system tuning is not perfect no signal is transmitted to the gate of the volume-control tube and the relay remains energized and therefore gives an indication of the exact tuning of the system with the frequency of the received signal.
The light source can be placed anywhere. It can be, without departing from the scope of the present invention, placed in a separate control device, mounted behind the graduated dial of the receiver or placed at the rear of the front panel of the receiver in such a way. to illuminate a small window in it.
An embodiment of the invention has been described above which demonstrates its main characteristics, but it is clear that they can be modified in many ways with a view to adapting them to the conditions which are encountered without departing from the field. of this patent.
