Cendrier.
On connaît des cendriers comportant une cuvette supérieure, destinée à recevoir directement les cendres, allumettes, etc. et qui est montée à pivotement sur un réceptacle dans lequel, par un basculement de la cuvette, le contenu de celle-ci est projeté et ainsi soustrait à la vue. Très souvent, ce réceptacle renfer- me de l'eau destinée à assurer une extinction rapide des bouts de cigarette, cigare, etc.
Tous ces cendriers présentent divers inconvénients. Ils sont généralement non hermétiques, c'est-à-dire que les déchets et cendres reçues dans le réceptacle inférieur ne sont pas à l'abri des coups de vent et peuvent ainsi ressortir et se répan- dre ; la fumée produite par l'extinction se dégage à peu près librement dans l'atmosphère. Généralement aussi, la vidange du réceptacle est malaisée, à cause du rebord périphérique prévu pour la réception des pivots de la cuvette et souvent destiné à donner une meilleure fermeture du réceptacle. se maintient pas dans sa position horizontal de fermeture du réceptacle.
La présente invention crée un cendrier du type à bascule, qui tout en étant d'une fabrication très simple et d'un aspect extérieur très esthétique, évite ces divers inconvénients, ainsi qu'il ressortira de la description ci-dessus, faite avec l'appui du dessin annexé, dans lequel :

Fig.3 est une coupe verticale similaire, dans la position basculée de la cuvette.
1 désigne le réceptacle général des condres, déchets et bouts de cigarettes et cigares, allumettes, etc. ainsi qu'éven- tuellement de l'eau d'extinction. Dans l'exemple, ce réceptacle affecte la forme préférée mais non limitative d'une botte cylin- drique ouverte vers le haut. Sur une partie de la circonférence, cette botte comporte un rebord supérieur 2 plan s'étendant sur un peu moins de la moitié de la périphérie.
Les extrémités libres de ce rebord portent les pivot*, axes ou charnières du couver- cle de la boite, lequel comporte une partie bordurals 4 consti - tuant prolongement du rebord % de façon à former, par cette partis 4 et le rebord 2, une couronne s'adaptant exactement la circonférence du réceptacle 1.Le couvercle comporte en outre une partie centrale , qui est la cuvette-cendrier proprement dite ; cette partis concave est exactement bordée par la couron- ne formée par le rebord! et la partie .
Dans la position normale représentée aux fig.l et 2, le réceptacle 1 est hermétiquement fermé, tant par la partie 4 qui s'appuie sur son bord, que par la cuvette 5 dont le bord libre s'applique sous le rebord 2. Le basculement de l'enuemble 4- 5 ne peut être accidentel, grâce à l'excontricité des pivots 5 ; cette excentricité assure de plus une stabilité parfaite du cen- drier proprement dit, et un retour automatique de celui-ci après basculement.

D'autre part, comme le montrent les figs.2 et 3, la vidan- ge du réceptacle 1 est très aisée, grâce à l'absence de tout rebord sur une grande partie de sa périphérie ; dans les cen- driers habituels où ce rebord s'étend sur toute la circonfé - rence, il est très malaisé de faire sortir tout le contenu du réceptacle,
Enfin, on comprend que le dégagement de fumées est réduit au minimum, grâce à l'absence de vides entre le réceptacle 1 et le cendrier 5.
Généralement, on prévoit aux cendriers des supports pour poser momentanément un cigare ou une cigarette non encore achevée. Dans l'exemple, ces supports sont formés par deux dépressions 6 - en demi-cercle, pratiquées dans le bord 4 à l'endroit des pivots 3 ; la paroi cylindrique du réceptacle 1 comporte à ces endroits des encoches ± de forme correspondante.
Il est évident que ces supports pourraient être pratiqués de la marne façon à d'autres endroits de la périphérie.
REVENDICATIONS.
1. Cendrier comportant une cuvette réceptrice montée pivotante par rapport à un réceptacle inférieur, caractérisé en ce que le réceptacle possède un rebord horizontal supérieur s'étendant sur moins de la moitié de la périphérie, les extré- mités de ce rebord portant les pivots de la cuvette, laquelle est bordée par un rebord formant prolongation de celui du réceptacle, de façon à fermer hermétiquement ce dernier, le bord libre de la cuvette s'appliquant exactement sous le rebord du réceptacle.

Ashtray.
There are known ashtrays comprising an upper bowl, intended to directly receive the ashes, matches, etc. and which is pivotally mounted on a receptacle in which, by tilting the bowl, the contents of the latter are projected and thus hidden from view. Very often, this receptacle contains water intended to ensure rapid extinction of the ends of cigarettes, cigars, etc.
All these ashtrays have various drawbacks. They are generally not hermetic, that is to say that the waste and ashes received in the lower receptacle are not protected from gusts of wind and can thus come out and spread; the smoke produced by extinguishing is released almost freely into the atmosphere. Generally also, emptying the receptacle is difficult, because of the peripheral rim provided for receiving the pivots of the bowl and often intended to give better closure of the receptacle. Finally, after a short time, the cuvette itself is very often unstable, and does not

does not remain in its horizontal closed position of the receptacle.
The present invention creates an ashtray of the rocking type, which, while being very simple to manufacture and having a very aesthetic exterior appearance, avoids these various drawbacks, as will emerge from the above description, made with the '' support of the attached drawing, in which:

1 designates the general receptacle for condres, waste and ends of cigarettes and cigars, matches, etc. as well as possibly extinguishing water. In the example, this receptacle takes the preferred, but not limited to, shape of a cylindrical boot open upwards. Over part of the circumference, this boot has a flat upper rim 2 extending over a little less than half of the periphery.
The free ends of this rim carry the pivot *, pins or hinges of the cover of the box, which comprises a border part 4 constituting an extension of the rim% so as to form, by this part 4 and the rim 2, a crown which adapts exactly to the circumference of the receptacle 1. The cover further comprises a central part, which is the actual ashtray-bowl; this concave part is exactly bordered by the crown formed by the rim! and the party.
In the normal position shown in fig.l and 2, the receptacle 1 is hermetically closed, both by part 4 which rests on its edge, and by the bowl 5, the free edge of which is applied under the rim 2. The tilting of the assembly 4-5 cannot be accidental, thanks to the eccentricity of the pivots 5; this eccentricity also ensures perfect stability of the ashtray itself, and an automatic return of the latter after tilting.

On the other hand, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, emptying the receptacle 1 is very easy, thanks to the absence of any rim over a large part of its periphery; in the usual ashtrays where this rim extends over the entire circumference, it is very difficult to remove all the contents of the receptacle,
Finally, we understand that the release of fumes is reduced to a minimum, thanks to the absence of voids between the receptacle 1 and the ashtray 5.
Generally, the ashtrays are provided with supports for temporarily placing a cigar or a cigarette that has not yet been completed. In the example, these supports are formed by two depressions 6 - in a semi-circle, made in the edge 4 at the location of the pivots 3; the cylindrical wall of the receptacle 1 has at these locations ± notches of corresponding shape.
It is obvious that these supports could be practiced in the marl way in other places of the periphery.
CLAIMS.
1. Ashtray comprising a receiving bowl mounted to pivot relative to a lower receptacle, characterized in that the receptacle has an upper horizontal rim extending over less than half of the periphery, the ends of this rim bearing the pivots of the bowl, which is bordered by a rim forming an extension of that of the receptacle, so as to hermetically close the latter, the free edge of the bowl being applied exactly under the rim of the receptacle.
