" COUPE CIGARES "
Le présent brevet, a pour objet un mécanisme de coupe-cigares pouvant s'adapter à tout espèce de boite en métal ou autre ma- tière appropriée et de toute forme extérieure voulue, avec ou sans ornementations ou réclames. Le mécanisme envisagé comporte essentiellement une tige avec bouton poussoir dont l'extrémité attaque un levier basculant à l'extrémité duquel est articulé un autre levier relié à une pièce coulissante et guidée portant la lame coupante, dont le bord tranchant est disposé en arrière de l'orifice de la boite par ou s'introduit l'extrémité du cigare et en regard d'une autre l'ame coupante fixe tangente à l'orifice de la boite.
Un ressort de rappel est disposé entre la pièce coulis- sante et le support d'articulation du levier b asculant. Tout le mécanisme envisage est solidaire de la paroi supérieure de la boite, et les parois latérales de la boite sont rendues solidaires de l'ensemble par deux traverses engagées sur des tiges filetées dont l'une d'elles sert de support au bac recueillant les peintes de cigares coupées. A cet effet les dessins annexés représentent :
La fig. I une vue en élévation du mécanisme une des parois latérales étant supposée enlevée.
La fig. 2 représente une vue en plan du mécanisme vu par le dessous, la boite étant retournée c'est-à-dire reposant sur sa paroi supérieure. le bac destiné à recueillir les pointes de .cigares 'étant enlevé.
En se reportant aux figures ci-dessus, 1 représente les parois latérales de la boite, et 2 la paroi supérieure ou table percée en 3 d'une ouverture pour l'introduction de la pointe du cigare.
Cette table .2 est munie d'une autre ouverture pour le passade de la tige ..5 pourvue à son extrémité supérieure d'un bouton pous- soir, à son extrémité inférieure (l'une articulation 6 à un levier basculant 7. pivoté en 8 sur un support 10 solidaire de la table 2.
L'autre extrémité du levier 7. est articulée en 9 à une petite bielle 11 elle même articulée en 12 à une pièee coulissante 14 maintenue par les guides 13. Sur cette pièce 14 se fixe la lame coupante 15 dont le bord tranchant est disposé en regaed de l'orl- fice 3. Un ressort de rappel 27 est fixé par une de ses extrémités en 28 à la pièce coulissante 14 et en 29 au support fixe 10.
Sur la table 2 est fixé un boulon 17 servant d'une part à, maintenir par l'écrou 18 la lame coupante fixe 16 d'autre part, par l'écrou 20 agissant sur la traverse 19 s'appuyant par ses ex- trémités sur des parois latérales ,parallèles à maintenir l'en- cadrement 1 solidaire de la table .2. et ceci grâce à la conicit des parois de l'encadrement 1.
Enfin sur cette tige filetée 17 s'engage un petit bac 25 maintenu par un écrou à papillon 26 ce bac étant destin= à recueillir les pointes de cigares.
La fixation a la table 2 de l'autre extrémité de l'encadre- mentlst assurée, par une tige filetée 21 passant en travers

d'une traverse 22 , analogue à la traverse 19 maintenue sur la tige 21 par un écrou 23. La boite peut comporter des pattes 24 pour être fixée avec vis ou boulons à une table ou comptoir.
Le fonctionnement se comprend aisément comme suit :
Lorsqu'on pousse le bouton 4 dais le sens de la flèche a on détermine l'avancement du support 14 de la lame¯1,5¯dans le sens do la flèche b, ce qui a pour effet de rapprocher le bord coupant de la lame 15 du bord coupant fixe 'de la-lame 16 et ainsi cisailler la pointe du cigare introduite dans l'orifice 3.
Aussitôt qu'on cesse la pression sur le bouton 4, le ressort de rappel 27 primitivement tendu ramèn. le mécanisme dans la po- sition de la fig. I ou 2.
Il va de soi que la boite abritant le mécanisme peut être da toute autre forme que celle représentée avec faces unies ou non, portant éventuellement des motifs décoratifs ou de réclames.
De même, le mécanisme décrit et représentepeut comporter d'autres détails ou modalités constructives,' les dessins annexés figurant à titre explicatif et non limitatif.
REVENDICATIONS.
I) Coupe cigares caractérise an ce que sur la table.ou paroi ' horizontale supérieure de la boite est fixé tout le mécanisme du coupe cigares proprement dit et qu'a cette même table, ou partie supérieure de la boite sont fixide dus tiges filetées sur lesquelles sont engagées des traverses qui au moyen d'écrous maintiennent les parois latérales ou encadrement de la table soli- daires de celle-ci de manière à former un ensemble parfaitement rigide l'une des tiges filetées prolongées formant l'axe de sup- port du bac destiné à recueillir les pointes de cigares..

The present patent relates to a cigar cutter mechanism which can be adapted to any kind of box made of metal or other suitable material and of any desired exterior shape, with or without ornamentation or advertising. The mechanism envisaged essentially comprises a rod with a push button, the end of which engages a rocking lever at the end of which is articulated another lever connected to a sliding and guided part carrying the cutting blade, the cutting edge of which is arranged behind the 'orifice of the box through which the end of the cigar is introduced and opposite another the fixed cutting blade tangent to the orifice of the box.
A return spring is arranged between the sliding part and the articulation support of the tilting lever. The entire mechanism envisaged is integral with the upper wall of the box, and the side walls of the box are made integral with the assembly by two crossbars engaged on threaded rods, one of which serves as a support for the tank collecting the painted cut cigars. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of the mechanism seen from below, the box being turned upside down, that is to say resting on its upper wall. the tray intended to collect the tips of .cigars' being removed.
Referring to the figures above, 1 represents the side walls of the box, and 2 the upper wall or table pierced at 3 with an opening for the introduction of the tip of the cigar.
This table .2 is provided with another opening for the passage of the rod ..5 provided at its upper end with a push button, at its lower end (the one articulation 6 with a tilting lever 7. pivoted in 8 on a support 10 integral with the table 2.
The other end of the lever 7. is articulated at 9 to a small connecting rod 11 itself articulated at 12 to a sliding part 14 held by the guides 13. On this part 14 is fixed the cutting blade 15 whose cutting edge is arranged in regaed of the orifice 3. A return spring 27 is fixed by one of its ends at 28 to the sliding part 14 and at 29 to the fixed support 10.
On the table 2 is fixed a bolt 17 serving on the one hand to maintain by the nut 18 the fixed cutting blade 16 on the other hand, by the nut 20 acting on the cross member 19 resting by its ends. on side walls, parallel to keep the frame 1 integral with the table .2. and this thanks to the conicity of the walls of the frame 1.
Finally on this threaded rod 17 engages a small tank 25 held by a wing nut 26 this tank being intended = to collect the cigar tips.
The other end of the frame is fixed to the table 2 by a threaded rod 21 passing through

a cross member 22, similar to the cross member 19 held on the rod 21 by a nut 23. The box may include tabs 24 to be fixed with screws or bolts to a table or counter.
The operation is easily understood as follows:
When pushing button 4 in the direction of the arrow a, the advancement of the support 14 of the blade 1.5¯ in the direction of the arrow b is determined, which has the effect of bringing the cutting edge closer to the blade 15 from the fixed cutting edge 'of the blade 16 and thus shear the tip of the cigar introduced into the orifice 3.
As soon as the pressure on the button 4 ceases, the return spring 27 originally tensioned returns. the mechanism in the position of fig. I or 2.
It goes without saying that the box housing the mechanism can be of any other shape than that shown with plain faces or not, possibly carrying decorative patterns or advertisements.
Likewise, the mechanism described and represented may include other details or constructive methods, the appended drawings appearing for explanatory and non-limiting purposes.
CLAIMS.
I) Cigar cutter characterized in that on the table or upper horizontal wall of the box is fixed the entire mechanism of the cigar cutter itself and that this same table, or upper part of the box are fixed due to the threaded rods on which are engaged crossmembers which by means of nuts hold the side walls or frame of the solid table thereof so as to form a perfectly rigid assembly one of the extended threaded rods forming the support axis the container intended to collect the cigar tips.
