<EMI ID=4.1>
<EMI ID=5.1>

oially razors with a thin blade clamped between a plate
with guard combs and cap, clamping.
A characteristic of the razor which is the object of the invention is that the guard plate and the cap have, not only a curvature in the transverse direction as

dinal. To be able, without breaking, to support this double curvature, the blade is perforated in a special way, with elongated holes of shape and position studied to obtain an almost uniform distribution of the bending forces; this special blade constitutes a new industrial product and forms part
of the invention.
The double curvature given to the blade under the constraint of the cap, which presses it on the guard plate, has the effect of ensuring it a complete rigidity which is never achieved with the thin blades of current razors, and which however is born-

tudinal edge of the blade makes it easier to shave the re-entrant parts of the skin, which cannot be done with a straight edge.
Another important feature is that the cutting edge of the blade, when gripped by the cap, in the shaving position, is located below the top of the guard teeth, instead of above. or protruding from these teeth, as in all razors of
current safety. This provision, a new characteristic, is of course very general and can be applied, not only
<EMI ID = 5.1>
of the invention, but to all thin or thick blade razors with safety guard.
The position of the cutting edge below the top of the guard teeth provides absolute protection against cuts, protection that does not exist or only partially exists with current safety guards which leave the edge of the blade protruding. It may seem paradoxical that a sharp edge hidden behind the teeth is able to give a good result

under the aotion of the pressure exerted by the razor on the skin,
<EMI ID = 7.1>. And approaches the edge of the blade by itself; the surface of each of these small protrusions of the skin is consequently taut and therefore presents itself in the best conditions to be shaved at the most almost without risk of being cut by the cutting edge.
This little protrusion of the skin under pressure
of the razor is proportional to this pressure. So for
to shave lightly, you have to press the razor lightly; to shave more closely, you have to press harder, an instinctive gesture which eliminates the need for always delicate adjustment. This new

is worth it to be foolproof.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example only, a razor with a thin blade clamped between a guard and a cap, and constructed according to the invention. The fig.l is an axial section of the razor in the operating position. Fig. 2 a plan, fig.S a side view. Fig. 4 shows from the front the blade specially perforated to ensure at the same time the longitudinal flexion and the transverse flexion.
The razor has, as usual, a handle 1, a plate 2 with guard combs 3, a cap 4 and a
thin blade 5 clamped between the cap and the guard.
According to the invention, the guard plate 2 and the cap 4 have a curvature not only in the transverse direction fig.l, but simultaneously in the longitudinal direction fig.3. So that the blade can undergo this double curvature, it is perforated as shown in fig. 4, that is to say with elongated holes 6 of suitable position and particular shape. The purpose of the holes 6 is not only, as in the existing blades, to ensure the position of the blade by penetrating the tenons of the cap into the holes, but the profile of these elongated holes and their position are studied to obtain a uniform distribution of the bending forces of the blade when it undergoes its double curvature by clamping between the
cap 4 and plate 2.
On the other hand, the teeth of each comb 3 are

of the blade, so that this cutting edge is significantly lower than the top of the teeth 3 '; to allow the skin to swell in small protrusions of sufficient size under
