<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
tement.

"Device announcing railway stations and automatic advertising."
The object of the present invention is to improve the arrangement of the announcing devices of railway stations and of automatic advertising, provided with an announcing tape box, so that the tape box, to be rapidly interchangeable, contains as little. of parts as possible and that the change of direction of the movement of the announcer tape, executed so far by hand, is implemented automatically. In addition, the invention consists in the appropriate arrangement of contacts for light advertising in connection with the station announcer, in particular with a view to the high voltage, used in electric railways.
The invention essentially consists in that the switching device, housed in the control box, is connected with the shaft of the recording roll by the intermediary of a coupling, the slot of which has the same orientation.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
as the disc slot.Moreover, it is possible to change the direction of movement of the announcer tape by means of an electric motor and electromagnets, the motor having the dual function of actuating the tape and alternately carrying out the action. - 'respective coupling in order to change the direction of rotation of the tape, this takes place by means of a particular mechanism and by means of a stopper,
which is connected to the coupling in all cases when the armature of the electromagnet actuates the lever. Another characteristic of the invention lies in the fact that it is possible, by means of communication. tator, to change the direction of the current and hence the direction of rotation of the tape by means of two contact rollers, so that by means of two couplings only one of the rollers is actuated, while the other roller is The water is automatically switched off, given the particular execution of the coupling, so that the tape can unwind freely from this last roll.Finally, a peculiarity of the invention is that the contacts arranged on two winding rollers,
by driving the announcing tape, the current closes in the electromagnet, the armatures of which control the coupling in order to change the direction of rotation of the motor, the contacts closing the circuit to the lamp being open when the lever switch is in its tilt position.
The drawing schematically illustrates an exemplary embodiment of the object of the invention.

Indicator tape 67 moving on the roller
69 drives the shaft 70 in rotation, which is transmitted to the shaft 71, carrying a contact device, 19-37. the two shafts are coupled by means of two parts 72 and
73 clutch. Part 72 is provided with a longitudinal slit 74, the other part 73 of two tenona® 5. The part 72 is fixed on the shaft 71 and its slot in the same direction as the notch 26 of the disc 25. This arrangement is chosen from the position of the disc 75 (fig. 1), but any other relative position. suitable disc 25 and slope 74 can be chosen.
With the apparatus in its rest position, the slot 74 is horizontal, so that it is possible to remove the boot from the indicator tape without having to move the shaft 71.
Since in the event that the vehicle in question is traveling in both directions on one and the same line between two end stations, service personnel can easily forget to reverse the direction of movement of the indicator / stations in the direction of travel. final station, provision has been made for a device for automatically overturning the strip by means of an electromagnetic electric motor. Such a device can be executed in three alternatives.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
A first alternative is designed as follows: in the final station, the indicator tape is completely wound up on the roller 66, so that the button 80 emerges through an opening, provided on the end of the tape, around the periphery of the roller 65 thus closing the contact 75, to two springs 77, 78. The spring 78 is pivotable at 74. Au. moment when the current passes through the electromagnet 91 the armature 92 of this electromagnet actuates the lever 93 and moves it. The lever 93 is connected with the lever 94, which rotates at 95 and has a tooth 96. This tooth 96, which was in engagement with the notch 97 is lifted, so that the slide 98, SILK the action of the spring 99 is placed in the position illustrated in fig. 1.
The cam disc 100 is integral with the shaft 40 and by means of a spring rod 101 pushes the lever 102 downwards, when the shaft is in motion.
The lever 102 rotates in the seat 103 of the lever 104 with two arms, which is displaced angularly by the operation which has just been described and bears at 105 on the spring rod 106, housed in the socket 107. The rod 106 being depressed, the sliding tooth 110 presses on the pawl 108 and moves it, so that the tooth 111 engages with the tooth 112 of the rod 106 and maintains it in its position. The rod 106, being integral with the lever 113 and the shaft 46, the latter is moved by the movement which has just been described, so that the idler pulley 60 is placed under the second belt, so that the direction of movement of the ribbon was reversed.
This operation once finished, the slide 98, under the action of the disc 114, integral with the shaft 38, and the pin 115 is returned to its initial position, so that the camshaft 100 cannot act on the rod 101 as far as the vehicle is traveling in the opposite direction.
The same operation is repeated in the final station at
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the other end of the line, that is to say, at the moment when the raban is completely wound up on the roll. ' 65 and rod 80, as well as the contacts 76, consisting of springs 77 and 78, coming into operation.
The advantage of. device which has just been described resides in the fact that in order to overcome the considerable forces occurring during the change of the. direction of flap movement the motor is used, which also serves to control the device, so that the electromagnet has insignificant dimensions.
Another device used to automatically change the direction of movement of the raban is as follows:
The motor has 6 connections 118 to 123 (fig. 6) 118 and 119 for the stator winding, 120 and 121 for the rotor winding, 122 and 123 for the collector. The apparatus being provided with a series motor, the direction of rotation of the motor can be changed by reversing the polarity of the collector using a usual switch, the direction of the current in the stator remaining the marl. illustrated case there are two electromagnets 125 and 126 for this purpose.
Each of these electromagnets is in connection with contacts 75 and 76 respectively, arranged in the rollers of the flap box and in series with the current source. This arrangement of two electromagnets and two roller contacts is also intended to ensure the flawless operation of the apparatus at the time of the automatic change of the direction of movement of the tape, even if the current-taking device jumps out of the conduit. and the current is cut off. When the current flows from the electromagnets per year, the armature of this electromagnet connected to the switch as shown in the drawing, moves the switch,
the polarity changes and the motor rotates in the opposite direction, until
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
that the other electromagnet comes into play in a similar way.
(; As the two rollers are in permanent communica- tion through the intermediary of the tape, only one of these rollers must be actuated at a time, while the shaft of the other roller (from which the raban drive shaft), must not in any way influence the motor shaft.To this end a roller coupling. :: of a known system has been provided in the device, however having the peculiarity that, rotating in one way, it drives the ribbon motor shaft, while if the coupling turns in the opposite direction, the shaft can turn freely in both directions.
On the shafts 63, 64 (fig. 7 and 8) is wedged the cylindrical disc, in the interior of which are housed the rollers 128, 129, 130. The cam disc 131, having three corresponding notches for the rollers, peat freely toarner on the shaft 63 and is integral with the control pulley 132. A cylinder 133, arranged aa- toar da disqua 127, protrudes through its front part by means of three notches for the rolls between the discs 127 around the disc with cams 131 and in its rear part is closed by the bottom 134. The disc 136 is placed towards the bottom 134 of the cylinder 133 by the helical spring 135 and prevented by two pins 137, 138 from turning, from turning. so that the cylinder is retained in its position by braking.
If, the shaft being actuated, the cam disc 131 toarne in the say and j is indicated by the arrow. the rollers are relatively retained by the cylinder 143, that is to say the rollers are driven back by the inclined planes of the cam disc towards the interlock surface of the. disqae 127 except that these rollers and hence the cylinder 133 are not driven in rotation by friction
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
definitely.
If, on the other hand, the cam disc turns in the other direction, the wheels are forced by the action of the brake cylinder 133 towards the outer surface of the cam disc 131, and are therefore in no relation to the disc 127, so that this disc and hence the tape box shaft 63 can freely rotate in both directions, i.e. the tape can freely unwind from the roll. when the lever 19 is angularly displaced (dotted position in FIG. 1), the contacts 35, closing the circuit 36 to the lamp 37, are closed.
