Metal box for shoe polish, drugs and the like with recess for opening.
The object of the present invention is to create, during the actual manufacture, stamped sheet cans of an ordinary shape to contain creams, waxes, or medical products, comprising an arrangement established with exclusive material drawn. - ment of the body of the box itself, such an arrangement being suitable to facilitate opening, an operation which can thus easily be done without the assistance of special instruments, but by means of objects, d 'common use or household.
According to the invention. the body of the. box is provided with pen- in s, one machining, at any place of its. aylindrical wall, of a hollow, indentation where. depression which interests the, said cylindrical wall only along an arc of. reduced length, and of such a height as to leave intact the annular zone contiguous to the upper edge of the body of the box.
The shape of the imprint or depression, is such that the profile obtained by sectioning it followed an axial plane passing through its middle, appears more or less like a right-angled triangle with a very short horizontal side compared to the vertical side, which coincides with a generator: of the cylinder of the box.
The lower step thus formed is arranged at such a height that after having pushed the cover fully onto the body of the box, there remains, between the lip of the cover and the said step of the hollow, a spacing of approximately 2 - 3 M / M is sufficient space to insert the back of a penknife blade, knife,

the edge of a coin or objects of ordinary use; is therefore possible by a torsional movement exerted on said object to cause the force of a lever between said step and the lip of the cover, causing an initial separation of the latter relative to the body of the box. As is known, it suffices to be able to move a little, and on one side only, the cover relative to the copps of the box so that the separation then proceeds easily until it is completely open.
The fundamental idea of the present invention is presented in the accompanying drawing, in an embodiment given by way of example, and it is understood that the invention is not limited only to such an embodiment.
Fig. 1 - represents a practical means for causing the partial opening of a box manufactured according to the invention, using a coin and for gripping the box during the opening operation.
Fig. 2 - shows the hollow made. in the box with the cover removed.
Fig. 3 - show it. same hollow seen in profile elevation.
Fig. 4 - shows the body of the box provided with said hollow in horizontal projection.
In these figures: 1 represents the body of the metal box and 2 is the cover thereof. In the method of machining the body of the box according to the invention, an additional operation is interposed, where it is immediately followed by means of which an impression is made or a depression 3 in the cylindrical wall of the box and towards inside it, at a suitable height from the bottom.
Said imprint 3. preferably performed with a punch sliding parallel to the bottom in the same embu'tir iron as that used for the box, but which can be carried out by an intermediate or subsequent operation in the process of machining the body of the box. , presents in its lower part and in depth, a substantially horizontal step 4 while the depth decreases progressively.

vement upwards where it cancels out before reaching the lip or upper edge of. the box.
The width of the indent corresponds approximately to its height. The profile of the stamping 3, such as it results by section, along a horizontal plane passing near or through the plane of the step 4, is preferably in an arc of a circle with a radius equal to that of an ordinary coin but it could have a more rectilinear development or any other appropriate .. The step 4 is placed at such distance from the bottom of. the box and the top edge of the. rib 8 (either of the lip of the cover 1), when the latter is pushed fully in there remains a distance of approximately 19 - 3 m / m between this step 4 and the lower end of the lip 7 of the cover 2.
The way of causing the opening by providing a stamping thus formed, and having recourse, for example: to a coin, is shown very clearly in fig.l. It is superfluous to add that a single hollow where depression is sufficient for the intended purpose and that if more than one were to be provided, this could only complicate the machining and the opening maneuver.
In order for these: opening provisions to be applied, it is necessary for their production during machining to be simple and their application easy.
It should be noted that the presence of the hollow does not in any way compromise the tightness of the closure of the box because the lip 6, and the. contiguous zone to this one, is kept intact so as to be able to apply without break of continuity to the internal cylindrical wall of the cover
