method and tool for cutting screw threads, in particular internal threads in hollow bodies of doubly conical shape.
The creation of the internal thread aans aes hollow bodies of doubly conical shape is currently done by means of turns; the thread is first cut in one of the halves of the hollow body, then the position of the part to be treated is changed and the other half is then fitted with the thread. this procedure is complicated and time consuming and is therefore expensive,
Methods are also already known according to which it is possible to cut continuous screw threads in the hollow bodies of douolely conical shape without affecting the position of the treated part.
However, these methods require for their

realization of special machines and complicated and relatively expensive tools. to avoid these drawbacks, the present invention proposes to create the thread in a single continuous operation by means of a tool provided with two adjacent cutters placed at an angle with respect to each other, this tool being com- mandated in such a way that one of the cutting edges comes into action in the first conical half and then the other cutting edge creates the thread in the second conical half of the hollow body.
Fig. 1 of the drawing schematically represented an exemplary embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 shows another embodiment of the pruning tool.
The creation of the internal thread for the hollow body a of doubly conical shape is done by means of a normal turn !, using a tool b provided with two cutting edges c, d, which are adjacent and meet at an angle. The position of the two cutting edges relative to each other is chosen such that they form the same angle as the two generatrices of the conical surfaces of the hollow body a .. When cutting the screw thread, the tool b is controlled in a known manner, by means of a conical rule or by means of a threaded rod with reversal mechanism, so that the cutter ± creates the thread in the half of the cone e and then cutting it d in the conical half.!. of the hollow body a.
It is thus possible to provide the part with a thread in the two halves of the body, in a single continuous operation, without changing the position of the part.
Fig. shows another embodiment of the pruning tool. Instead of two cutting edges, this one has an entire cutting tooth ±, corresponding to the shape of the screw thread, and in addition, on both sides of the latter, at a distance corresponding to the thread pitch, a cutting half tooth h.
