<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
La fig. 1 est une vue en section médiane longitudinale de l'appareil;
La fig. 2 an estune vue libérale.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

filed in support of a patent application for: "ELECTRICALLY CONTROLLED DECROTTOIRS ET POLISSOIRE", by
The present invention refers to a new model of a floor scraper and polisher put into action by an electric motor forming part of the scraper itself and to which it is applied so as to keep the device the simple aspect of a rotary scraper, to hand.
In fact, the electric scraper and polisher in question is characterized by the fact that the electric motor, mounted integrally on a handle, for maneuvering, branching into a fork, is placed inside a. cylindrical drum carrying on its side the stripper cylinder (brush or other) - which drum envelops the motor itself, while being driven by the latter by means of a friction transmission system, or gears or any other opportune .
The spirit of the invention being based in principle on
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the internal position of the engine with respect to the crusher cylinder can be easily understood by referring to the attached drawing, which represents, by way of example, one of the possible practical embodiments of the scraper and perishain in question.
In the said drawing,
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal mid-sectional view of the apparatus;
Fig. 2 years is a liberal view.
According to the drawing, -1- is the motor, -2- the handle provided with the bifurcation or fork -2'-, -3- the electric cord for the socket, -4- the plug socket contact, -5- a stripper cylinder provided with bristles -51 -6- are the ball bearings around which the brush holder drum (or other) rotates; -? - is the motor axis, drive -8- the pulley / integral with the motor shaft; are the satellites for the transmission of the movement to the support drum-12- of the striker cylinder; -10- is a spring used to ensure friction for each satellite with the drive pulley and with the drum; -11- is the friction ring inside the drum -12-.
As can be seen from the drawing, the motor -l-, and this is the essential feature of the present invention, is located in the interior of a cylindrical drum -12-. This drum rotates in ball bearings-6- and is controlled by a friction system (possibly by gears) consisting of a conical pulley-8- integral with the motor shaft and by two, three or plus sate- llites (in the drawing there are three) -9- also conical applied on the engine cover.
These satellites, which will preferably be coated on their friction surface with an elastic material, transmit the movement to the drum by rotating in friction against a conical crown - whose drum
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
even is provided internally in correspondence of the said sa .. tellites.
The satellites are kept in friction with the conical pulley of the motor and with the crown of the drum by means of a spring (10).
On said drum is threaded and fixed, by some means, the deorotating cylinder (5) which may be of different type, depending on the use that one wishes to make of the apparatus. For example, this cylinder could be provided with bristles, when it should be used for waxing and making shiny, or. good of a pig of cloth, felt or similar, when one wants only to make shiny; we can also provide this cylinder with a scraping cloth or any other material, when we want to operate the scraping of floors etc.
It is obvious that the same object can be obtained, as was said above, by enveloping the motor, instead of with a single drum, with two adjacent cylindrical drums, which in turn will surround and respectively the two halves of said motor.
It is further evident that the details of construction and form of the new type of scraper and polisher in question may vary in practice from those which have been described above, without, however, going beyond the limits of the invention. vention.
