Abstract

The invention relates to a device for opening oysters which can be gripped in the hand and actuated by the operator in order to be inserted between the valves of the oyster or other bivalve molluscs in order to separate them. This device consists of a hollow body (13) carrying, at its end, a blade (14) for opening, the said body (13) housing, inside it, a drive element (23) for actuating an eccentric element (25), the said eccentric element (25) rotating freely inside the said hollow body (13) and inducing, in the device for opening oysters, a vibrational effect of desired intensity.
