<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
L'arme représentée est du type à emprunt de gaz; le verrouillage de la culasse mobile ,entre l'arrière du canon b et la 'boite de culasse a,dans le logement a1 prévu à cet effet dans celle-ci,ainsi que le déverrouillage de cette culasse mobi- le casent produits par les mouvements d'un porte-mécanisme d ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
recevant près de son axe d'articulation la poussée d'un autre levier n ,également articulé en nl entre les bras extérieurs k du tracteur-élévateur ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Le guide du ressort récupérateur h est de préférence, comme représenté,construit en deux parties télescopiques hlh2; avec un ressort intérieur h;cette disposition présente les avantages suivants :1 - elle évite le choc brutal,à. fin de course arrière,entre la pièce m4 et l'extrémité avant du guide-ressort, et évite par suites les possibilités d'usure et d'ébranlement de ces organes; 2 - elle évite les détériorations de la cartouche g lors de son introduction dans la chambre du canon b ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
démontage de la poignée,accélère le démontage de l'arme et permet une construction plus solide des organes;cette coulisse a3, ainsi qu'une rainure a4 creusée en regard de la coulisse a3 jusqu'à mi épaisseur de la paroi latérale opposée de la boite de culasse,peuvent être utilisées pour guider le porte-mécanisme d dans ses déplacements,par l'intermédiaire de la tige p,prolon- gée,de la poignée ou bouton de manoeuvre,solidement fixé ou rivé dans le porte-mécanisme d;
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>

The present invention relates to automatic firearms, such as machine guns, submachine guns or automatic war or defense pistols.
The invention relates to: a device preventing the operation of the firing trigger, while the weapon is not loaded.
2 -A device stabilizing the cartridge engaged in the tractor-lift, despite the impact on the mechanism carrier at the end of its rear travel.
3 -Various arrangements preventing the deformation of the cartridge during feeding.
4 -A percussion mechanism mounted outside the weapon's mobile organs and providing instantaneous percussion, for firing through the field of the aircraft propeller.
50-Various provisions improving the resistance of automatic firearms components operating by borrowing gas.
The invention is shown by way of example, in one embodiment, in the accompanying drawing in which:
Fig.l is an axial longitudinal sectional view of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
the weapon, in the extreme open position of the bolt.
The. fig.2 and 3 are cross-sectional views taken respectively along line 2-2 and line 3-3 of fig.l.
Fig.4 is a view corresponding to that of fig.l, but in the closed position of the slide and triggering of the percussion mechanism.
The figures represent a weapon provided with the percussion mechanism according to the invention, but all the other devices are also applicable to weapons in which the percussion is simply provided by a percussion point fixed or mounted on the mechanism holder.
The weapon shown is of the gas borrowed type; the locking of the movable breech, between the rear of the barrel b and the breech box a, in the housing a1 provided for this purpose therein, as well as the unlocking of this movable breech produced by the movements a mechanism holder d;
this is actuated, in a well-known manner, on the one hand, by the admission (not shown) of a part of the deflating gases on a piston at one of the ends of the mechanism holder (on the left of fig.l and 4) and, on the other hand, by the antagonistic action of the recuperator spring h on the opposite end of the mechanism carrier d (on the right in fig.l and 4). provided at the rear of the mechanism holder d acts by inclined planes d2 d3 on corresponding inclined planes of the movable yoke ±, to effect its locking and unlocking.
The ± cartridges are extracted from the strip and are introduced into the chamber of the barrel b by a lift tractor, comprising three arms mounted in a vertical longitudinal slot d4 of the mechanism holder d, the two outer arms k, forming spring and having upper ends forming part (fig.2) to embrace the cartridge ± in front of its bead at the rear, while the median arm 1 forms a support for raising the front part of the cartridge.
Between this inner arm 1 and the grippers of the outer arms k is articulated in it, on the lift tractor, a lever.!,
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
receiving near its articulation axis the thrust of another lever n, also articulated in nl between the outer arms k of the tractor-lift;
the action of the single spring k2, housed in the slot d4 of the mechanism holder, tends to lift the elevator-tractor and all the components which are articulated on it; but the rear beak of the component n , by abutting against lever m6, articulated at m5 in a recess d5 of the port mechanism d, causes the front jaw of the lever to rise. ±, which constantly tends to raise lever 1; in this raised position ( indicated in dotted lines in fig.l), the lower part of this lever 1 comes inside the trigger notch or notch lltaillée in the lower part of the mechanism holder d, and thus prevents the trigger 1 from engage in this notch 11; the weapon is therefore unable to remain with its slide c in the open position '.
But when a cartridge is pinched in the tractor-lift, its presence prevents the lifting of the lever i; the trigger notch 11 is therefore free and the mechanism holder can remain in the position corresponding to the opening of the cylinder head. mobile. ± (as shown in solid lines in fig.l). This device allows the shooter to see whether his weapon is really loaded or not, by the sole fact that it remains armed or unarmed on trigger 1 (the external control members thereof are not shown). The loading maneuvers of the weapon are thus very accelerated, and many accidents: on the firing range are avoided.
Under the force of the impact of the mechanism carrier d against the rear plate a2 of the breech boot a, the cartridge slides, due to its inertia, between the clamps k of the lifting tractor; this slip could cause it to escape too soon from the grip of the tractor and thus cause incidents in the operation of the weapon. To remedy this drawback, the cartridge feed mechanism is provided with a part m. Articulated at m1 on lever n; a little before
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
that the mechanism carrier d comes into contact with the rear closing plate a2, the front end of the guide h1 of the recovery spring h meets a second oscillating part m4, articulated at m5 in the recess d5 of the mechanism carrier.
The oscillation of this part m4 produces the lifting of the part m and applies it by its inclined plane m2, to its upper front part, against the rear of the cartridge ±.
The slippage thereof is thus eliminated; however, when the mechanism holder d is sent forward by the recovery spring h, the part m can freely tip backwards until it bears against the part m6; it then presents its front inclined plane m2 in a suitable position in front of the base of the cartridge ± to facilitate the unhooking of the latter from the tractor-lift with a view to feeding it into the barrel chamber b.
It will be noted that the base of the cartridge ±. Cannot engage, as a result of false maneuvers, above the inclined plane m2 of the part m, as was possible when this part m was articulated on the mechanism holder instead of being on a member n, itself articulated on the tractor-lift.
The guide of the recuperator spring h is preferably, as shown, constructed in two telescopic parts hlh2; with an internal spring h; this arrangement has the following advantages: 1 - it avoids sudden shock, to. rear limit switch, between part m4 and the front end of the spring guide, and consequently avoids the possibilities of wear and shaking of these components; 2 - it prevents damage to the cartridge g when it is introduced into the chamber of the barrel b;
to this end, the inner telescopic part h2 of the spring guide comprises, beyond its head h4, an extension h5 of a length such that, when the mechanism holder d returns to the front, the rear bulge h6 of this part h2 comes to meet a narrowing at the front of the rear telescopic part h1 of the spring guide; this narrowing stops the race before
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
the part h2 of the spring guide, which thus frees the members m and m4, while the front extension h5 of the spring guide remains engaged, for a few more millimeters, under the lever n.
However, at this moment, the cartridge ± .partially engaged in the barrel chamber b, is released precisely from the tractor-lift j k. The support, thus provided temporarily to the tractor-lift by the extension h5 via the lever n, prevents this tractor-lift from lowering at the moment of the effort to unhook the cartridge ± from the clamp of the tractor-lift, and consequently eliminates the effect of torsion which would otherwise be transmitted to the cartridge. The length of the front extension h5 of the spring guide is adjusted so as to allow the lowering of the lift tractor as soon as the cartridge has been disengaged from it.
As shown in fig. 4, the outer telescopic part h1 of the spring guide comprises, near its front end, a side window 1: 7, through which the rear bulge h6 can be brought out of the inner telescopic part h2, which allows disassembly by hand.
The lower cylindrical body d of the port mechanism comprises, near its rear end, a part of larger diameter, d6, which alone bears on the bore of the cylinder head a, which eliminates unnecessary floating and creates, between the bore of the breech box and the greater part of the cylindrical body of the mechanism holder, an empty space d7 for the evacuation of foreign bodies which may have entered the weapon.
As shown in fig. 1, 3 and 4, the two protruding parts c1 and c2 at the front and at the rear of the movable yoke are connected to each other by side cheeks or spacers c3 c3 taken in the mass and which increase the resistance of the bolt.
The slot or slide a3, formed in one of the side walls of the breech box a for the passage of the rod of the handle or operating button, is extended to the rear end of the breech boot, this which avoids the
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
disassembly of the handle, accelerates the disassembly of the weapon and allows a more solid construction of the organs; this slide a3, as well as a groove a4 hollowed out opposite the slide a3 up to half thickness of the opposite side wall of the breech box, can be used to guide the mechanism holder d in its movements, by means of the rod p, extended, the handle or operating button, firmly fixed or riveted in the mechanism holder d;
this guide thus makes the handle or operating button absorb most of the work imposed hitherto on the lower cylindrical body d of the mechanism holder.
The percussion mechanism, making it possible to obtain instantaneous percussion and to synchronize it with the rotational movement of aircraft engines for firing through the field of the propeller, has this peculiarity that it is housed entirely, not not in the mechanism holder, nor in the movable breech, but in a casing s, fixed to the breech box a, at the upper part of the weapon.
This percussion mechanism comprises a hammer or percussion hammer e, mounted so as to be able to oscillate el between the two lateral flanges of the housing s and receiving, by means of a connecting rod e2 articulated at e3 on the hammer e , the thrust of a flat spring e5.
The percussion mechanism is triggered by the movable breech ±, which, when it is raised to lock it, acts on the trigger o, pivoted in olson the casing s; hammer e is triggered and tends to turn clockwise, but its course is immediately stopped by a second trigger r, pivoted in r on the shoemaker s and which does not allow the hammer ± to fall on the striker f when the motor prints, by the usual intermediate mechanism, a thrust to the rod r2, which makes this second trigger r erase (fig. 4).
The retraction of the movable breech ¯ ±, driven by the mechanism holder undoes the hammer e in the opposite direction, to reset it; for this purpose, a lever w, articulated at W1 on the holder -
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
mechanism d and passing through an axial longitudinal slot f1 of the striker f, undergoes, as a result of the recoil of the mechanism holder, an oscillating movement, which lifts its upper end; this acts on the hammer e so as to complete the angular rotational movement of the hammer, one anti-clockwise, so as to bring this hammer into engagement with the nozzle o3 of the trigger ±, which is it -even released, following the lowering of the butt, mobile ± (fig.l) and subjected to the action of the flat spring o2.
The oscillating movement of the lever w, during the opening of the weapon, has on the other hand, the effect of determining a recoil movement of the firing pin f, which prevents that when the closing of the l The weapon, the firing pin, by protruding in front of the bolt, does not cause a premature percussion.
On the other hand, when the movable breech stops in the locked position, the mechanism holder d, continuing its forward stroke, drives the lever, which oscillates and allows the striker f to move forward when it moves forward. is struck by the hammer or hammer e. This lever w thus constitutes a safety device.
