<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Device for collecting household waste with organic components.
This invention relates to a device for collecting household waste with organic components, in particular for the selective collection of organic waste, this is vegetable, fruit and garden waste.
EMI1.1
Organic constituents in household waste are most likely to cause odors and ZD odor nuisance, which is particularly undesirable if the waste is collected indoors.
Especially if the household waste is selected and therefore the GFT waste is aizonaerijK \. erzameiu \\ 'ord [, usually in compostable bags, such odor can occur.
In addition, it can break down the compostable bags in moisture and heat
EMI1.2
occur prematurely so that these bags become weak and tear through so that the ZD content falls out.
Containers with a lid are known, which may close slightly better than the aforementioned bags, but these containers do not exclude odor nuisance either.
Moreover, such containers are quite bulky and therefore less suitable for indoors, and especially impractical in small homes or apartments.
The invention has for its object to provide a container for household waste with organic material which avoids the aforementioned and other disadvantages and minimizes odor nuisance.
EMI1.3
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the device comprises a tub for the waste and cooling means to cool this tub.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
EMI2.1
These cooling means may be formed by a conventional cooling device with compressor, ZD condenser, evaporator and capillary, but preferably these cooling means comprise at least one thermoelectric cooler, more particularly a so-called Peltier cooling system.
Such cooling systems contain one or more Peltier elements or modules consisting of a number of semiconductor elements, for example pn junctions arranged electrically in series but thermally in parallel between ceramic plates, and act as a heat pump that pumps heat from one side to another side so that one side is cold and another is warm.
EMI2.2
The tub can be double-walled and consist of an outer and an inner tub, c wherein the cooling means can be arranged between the bottom of both tubs and preferably a thermally insulating material is arranged between the two tubs.
With the insight to better demonstrate the characteristics of the invention, a preferred embodiment of a device for collecting household waste with organic components according to the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying, as an example without any limiting character.
EMI2.3
drawing in which such a device according to the invention is schematically shown ZD.
The device for collecting organic waste represented in the single figure essentially comprises a double-walled tub with an outer tub 1 and an inner tub 2 and a Peltier cooling system 3 disposed between the bottom of the outer tub 1 and the bottom of the inner tub 2.
The outer tub 1 can be made of plastic or metal and is provided with legs 4 at the bottom.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The inner tub 2 is preferably made from a good thermally conductive material such as metal, for example aluminum.
Between the inner tub 2 and the outer tub 1 a space remains open which is filled with insulating material 5, except for a channel 6 which extends from one side to the other between the bottoms of the two tubs 1 and 2. At the top, the insulating material 5 can be closed off by a collar, not shown in the figure, which stands on the inner tub 2 or on the outer tub 1.
The inner tub 2 rests on the bottom of the outer tub 1 by means of spacers 7. The insulating material 5 can provide a connection between the two tubs 1 and 2, but in another embodiment the inner tub 2 can be removable.
EMI3.1
At the top, the inner tub 2 protrudes slightly outside the outer tub 1. A lid may be provided on this open end. This cover can also cover the outer tub 2 and be hinged to the latter, for example. The lid can be opened by a pedal mechanism.
The aforementioned Peltier cooling system is arranged in the channel 6 which opens at both ends to openings in the outer tub 1.
This Peltier cooling system 3 consists of a Peltier element 8 which is fixed with its cold side against the bottom of the inner tub 2 and carries metal cooling fins 9 on its warm side and of at least one fan 10 arranged in the channel 6.
Both the Peltier element 8 and the fan 10 are powered via electrical lines 11 and a transformer 12 that can be connected to the power supply via a cord 13.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
The power supply can optionally be connected to a thermostat.
The operation of the device is as follows: A compostable bag 14 is placed in the inner tub 2 in which the GFT is collected for the selective collection of household refuse.
By inserting the plug on the cord 13 into a wall socket, the Peltier element 8 and the fan 10 receive power. The side of this Peltier element 8, which is located against the bottom of the inner tub 2, cools down. The cold is transferred by conduction to the inner cup 2 so that the space inside is cooled. The warm side of the Peltier element 8 is cooled via the cooling fins 9 and through the air passing through the duct 10 through the channel 6 and thus over these cooling fins 9 and the warm side of the Peltier element 8 is blown.
The Peltier element 8 is selected such that the temperature within the inner tub 2 is between 5 ° C and 10 ° C.
Due to this low temperature, the bacterial activity in the GFT in the bag 14 is slowed down and the fermentation of this GFT will be avoided. As a result, no odor will occur. The composting of the bag 14 will also not start even when it is hot in the room where the GFT is collected.
The tub does not necessarily have to be double-walled and consists of an outer tub 1 and an inner tub 2. It can also be formed by a GFT container.
The inner tub 2 does not necessarily have to protrude outside the outer tub 1.
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
The Peltier cooling system 3 does not necessarily have to be located between the bottoms. It can also be located between the upright walls of the tubs 1 and 2.
Incidentally, a cooling system other than a Peltier cooling system 3 is possible and itself other than a thermoelectric cooling system such as the traditional cooling system with a compressor or a gas cooling system, although the Peltier cooling system 3 offers the advantage of being compact while the Peltier element is perfect is silent.
The Peltier cooling system 3 must not necessarily include a fan 10.
Natural convection may be sufficient to cool the warm side of the Peltier element 8.
The waste does not necessarily have to be pure organic waste and the waste can possibly be collected directly in the inner tank 2.
The invention is in no way limited to the embodiment described above and shown in the figures, but such a device for collecting household waste with organic components can be realized in various variants without departing from the scope of the invention.
