 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  DESCRIPTION DE L'INVENTION

  WHEELCHAIR DESCRIPTION OBJECT OF THE INVENTION
The invention which we now defend consists of a wheelchair, of the type of laterally foldable chairs, used by the physically handicapped as well as in hospitals for the transfer of the sick.

   This invention is characterized in that it incorporates plastic assembly parts which avoid the need for welding on the usual metal tubular profiles, which determines an ease of construction and replacement of the components, as well as a reduction in the weight of the chair, while facilitating its transport and stacking.

   These parts are the front and rear supports of the seat and the central scissor-joint parts of the chair.

  BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Wheelchairs for hospital use and for people with physical disabilities are extremely well known and do not require comment.

   Even wheelchairs articulated to be folded in scissors to allow a greater capacity of storage and transport without the user, are widely extended products having a known application.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

   The solicitor ignores the existence of foldable chairs which, among their tubular elements, have standard and special plastic connections which facilitate their replacement and which reduce the general weight of the whole without this being done at the expense of its resistance, while increasing its ease of handling on the part of the direct user, which represents a great improvement in its manufacture by eliminating the welds and allowing modular assembly.

  DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention which is the subject of the present specification refers to a wheelchair of the laterally foldable type according to the scissor closure system of those which are usually used for the physically handicapped and, also in hospital departments, for the transfer of sick and for their direct use by them.

   This invention is characterized by the incorporation of three different groups of parts, of assembly with tubular profiles of the chair, constructed with a plastic material having the adequate resistance for the intended purposes and a low weight.

   These plastic profiles avoid the need for welds on the usual metal tubular profiles, which determines the ease of construction of the chair during assembly and also the effects of replacing the components as well as a reduction in the weight of the latter, which facilitates its transport and subsequent stacking or alignment, or simply the handling of the

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 chair from the user, from his bed or the seat of a vehicle, etc.

   These three cited parts are respectively, the two supports of the seat, front and rear, and finally the central scissor joint parts of the chair.

   The front support serves as support and fixing for the footrests and is provided with two connections of the upper and lower tubes with an upper support of support of the end of the spar supporting the upholstery.

   The rear support is provided with two connections, for passage of the lower and upper side rails mentioned above, and with an upper support, for supporting the end of the tapestry support side member, and also serves for fixing the rear wheel and of the armrest rotation part:
Finally the third part is a tubular union, in plastic "T" which joins the tubes of the cross with the lateral allowing its folding.

  DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
To complete the description which we carry out, and in order to facilitate the best and easiest understanding of the characteristics of the invention, we attach to the present descriptive memory, this as being part of it, a set of plans on which, by way of illustration and never limiting, we reproduced the following:
Figure 1 is a side view of the chair, with the improvements described in the present invention.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>
