<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Fig. 1 een horizontale gedeeltelijke doorsnede van een afsluitinrichting volgens de uitvinding ;
Fig. 2 in een weergave overeenkomstig fig. 1 een gewijzigde uitvoeringsvorm ;
Fig. 3 eveneens in een weergave overeenkomstig fig. 1
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
een derde uitvoeringsvorm, echter onder weglating van andere onderdelen van de inrichting ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>

Shut-off device for a single-pipe gas meter.
The invention relates to a shut-off device for a single-pipe gas meter, comprising a housing, which comprises an inlet connection piece, an outlet connection piece as well as a connection piece for the gas meter and in which a sealing cover is included, each one at the inlet or outlet. - grommet fitted late, which can be fixedly connected to a gas pipe end, and a union nut for clamping the gates together with the associated connectors, the union nuts being provided with plumbing bores.
Such a closing device is known and in fig.
5 shown.
The housing 1 of the known closing device is intended to be placed in a horizontal gas tube, not shown. The connections to the gas pipe ends are formed by the sleeves 2 and 3. These are fixedly connected to the gas pipe ends, in the present case screwed, in particular with the interposition of fiber material, which seals the screw threads. Solder or weld connections are also possible.
The grommet 2 is inserted into the inlet connection piece 4, while the grommet 3 connects to the outlet connection piece 4. The union nuts 6 serve the grommets 2 and 3 in the associated connection pieces 4 and 4 respectively. 5 to clamp. For the security
EMI1.1
In this case, the union nuts 6 are provided with plumbing holes 7.
In the housing 1 of the shut-off device, the shut-off element 8 is included, which serves to shut off the gas flow to the single-pipe gas meter. The latter can be connected to the connector 9 of the housing 1.
When installed correctly, the connecting piece 9 is vertically downwards, since it must be connected vertically from above to the gas meter.
It has been found that this known closing device has a
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
offers the possibility to manipulate the single pipe gas meter.
The object of the invention is therefore to prevent this manipulation possibility.
In order to achieve this goal, the closing device mentioned at the beginning is characterized in that a shape-determined anti-twisting mechanism is arranged between at least one of the sleeves and the associated connecting piece.
Namely, it has been found that manipulation of the known closing device was possible in the following manner. The union nuts 6 were loosened very little, such that neither the lead was damaged, nor the sealing function of the connection was canceled. Then the entire house, including the single-pipe gas meter, was turned by 900, so that the bellow gas meter was horizontal. The union nuts 6 were then tightened again. Since the bellows gas meter must be vertical for its correct function, its readings were falsified in the manipulated horizontal position.
As a result of the invention, such a rotation of the grommet provided with the locking relative to the associated connecting piece is no longer possible. A twisting of the grommets relative to the associated gas tube ends is also excluded, since the grommets are either inseparably connected to the tube ends, or are screwed to them such that loosening the screw connection would immediately lead to a leak. It is true that, as before, the screw connection of the union nuts 6 can be loosened to some extent, but the locking against twisting prevents use of the resulting clearance.
In a further embodiment of the invention, it is proposed that the grommet provided with the anti-rotation lock has an extension with an outer shape deviating from the circular shape, preferably polygonal, which engages in a suitable seat of the associated connecting piece.
For manufacturing reasons, the extension will be used
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the grommet hexagonal, with the seat of the connecting piece being multi-angled in order to allow small angular steps if possible. However, other shapes, for example square or an elliptical shape, are also eligible.
An alternative consists in that the grommet provided with the anti-rotation lock has a part protruding from the associated connecting piece with an outer shape deviating from the circular shape, preferably polygonal, that a locking element with a suitable opening is inserted on this part and that the locking element is is in engagement with the housing against rotation. An intervention in the interior of the closing device is not required here. Only the outer shape of the tulle undergoes a change, to which the opening with which the locking element is placed on the tulle is adapted. Here too, a hexagonal shape will preferably be chosen for technical engineering reasons, although, as already indicated above, other shapes are also possible.
In a further embodiment of the invention it is proposed that the locking element abuts against a flat surface of the housing other than at right angles to the center line of the tulle and is preferably screwed against this surface. The simplest, as a rule, is a flat plane of the house running parallel to the center line of the tulle, but the plane can also be inclined. Only a radial plane is not permitted, since otherwise the contact of the locking element against the plane will not result in rotation-locked engagement.
Finally, in a further embodiment of the invention it is proposed as an additional alternative that the tulle provided with the anti-rotation lock and the associated connecting piece are provided with interlocking teeth arranged on the front side. It is particularly advantageous here that the toothing of the tulle arranged on the end face protrudes from its end face,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
while the toothing of the associated connecting piece arranged on the end face is arranged in its end face. The serrations arranged on the front side can easily extend around the tulle and the connecting piece. The number of interlocking teeth and dental pits can be freely selected depending on the expected forces.
With an appropriate material strength, in extreme cases, a single tooth that engages in a single tooth hole is sufficient. In order to simplify mounting, it is further possible to provide a relatively large number of floors to a relatively small number of teeth.
A further advantageous feature consists in that the connecting piece which is arranged with the grommet provided with a rotation-proof locking device is designed as a screw-in connecting piece. This construction is advantageous in particular if additional operations have to be carried out before applying the anti-rotation lock to the connecting piece. In a further embodiment of the invention it is proposed that the screw-in connecting piece is a sealing support for the preferably ball-shaped sealing element, since the sealing support already requires a relatively large amount of processing.
The screw-in connecting piece is preferably arranged on the inlet side of the closing element and thus forms the inlet connecting piece of the closing direction. The closing element is placed upstream of the single-pipe gas meter.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to preferred embodiments in connection with the accompanying drawing. The drawing shows in:
Fig. 1 is a horizontal partial cross-section of a closing device according to the invention;
Fig. 2 in a representation according to FIG. 1, a modified embodiment;
Fig. 3 also in a representation according to FIG. 1
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
a third embodiment, but omitting other parts of the device;
Fig. 4 is a partial sectional view taken on the line IVIV in FIG. 3, illustrating only the region of the serrations made on the end face; and
Fig. 5 the closing device already described at the beginning.
An understanding of FIGS. 1 to 4 assumes the knowledge of FIG. 5 as described at the outset. In the following, therefore, only the relevant differences are elaborated, that is, to the extent possible, using the same reference numerals.
In the closing device according to Fig. 1, the grommet 2 is provided with an extension 10 which engages in a seat 11 of the inlet connection piece 4. The extension 4 is hexagonal, while the seat has a twelve-sided shape, so that an angular step of 300 is possible. A rotationally secured connection between the grommet 2 and the inlet connection piece 4 is thereby ensured. Even after loosening the two union nuts 6, there is therefore no longer a risk that the housing 1, together with the single-pipe gas meter mounted therein, can be rotated about the center line of the housing.
The same effect is achieved with the embodiment according to Fig. 2. Here, the grommet 2 with its portion 12 protruding from the inlet connection piece 4 forms a hexagon, on which a locking element 13 is inserted, the opening of which is suitably multi-sided. The locking element 13 is screwed against a flat surface 14 of the housing 1.
Fig. 3 and 4 finally show an embodiment in which between the grommet 2 and the inlet connection piece 4 are arranged on the front side, consisting of a toothing 15 projecting from the grommet 2 and a toothing in the connection piece 4 on the front side. toothing fitted on the front side 16.
In the described embodiments, the inlet
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
closing piece 4 is designed as a screw-in connecting piece and forms a sealing support for the closing element 8. Operations on this connecting piece can thus be carried out relatively smoothly simultaneously with the operations already required.
It is also possible to design the outlet connection piece 5, unlike that shown in Fig. 4, as a screw-in connection piece. Further modifications are also possible. Thus, in a different construction, the inlet connection piece 4 can be designed as a part with the main body of the housing. Furthermore, the shut-off device is not limited to the use of a ball valve. In the embodiment according to Fig. 2, the flat surface 14 of the housing 1 can be oriented arbitrarily, but not radially with respect to the center line of the tulle 2. In the embodiment according to Figs. 3 and 4, a large number of teeth and recesses are provided . In the extreme case, a tooth is sufficient, which for mounting reasons under a large number of tooth pits is available.
