EMI1.1
"Palette".
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

EMI1.1
"Palette".
The present invention relates to an improved palette.
The pallets currently found on the market as a pallet transport system for goods basically consist of a base formed by transverse wooden boards supported by longitudinal boards of the same material.
They are joined by nails and the assembly is carried out pneumatically or in a similar manner.
The invention which it is desirable to protect consists in making the pallet from a plastic material by using a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene to form a single block or structure which offers the following advantages with respect to the current form made of wood: - Uniformity is obtained in the resistance of the pallet produced in this way, since the injection system allows metering with regard to the components, which makes the resistance of the pallet uniform. In existing wooden pallets there may be transverse planks of deteriorated wood because wood is a "living" material with knots and veins which make uniform or continuous resistance in the pallet impossible.
The pallet according to the invention allows a significant reduction in weight since its manufacture by the injection system reduces its weight by at least half.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Injection avoids the disadvantages of the formation of splinters and spikes and nails which appear in conventional pallets and scratch the goods stored on them and which can also cause accidents to operators handling the pallet.
The thickness of the support surface of the pallet according to the invention can vary to give more resistance depending on the load to be transported per pallet so that loads or goods having little weight can be transported with pallets of small thickness and loads of greater weight on pallets of greater thickness or weight. During the injection a reinforcement system can also be added which uses fiberglass which undoubtedly gives additional resistance.
- The continuous surface of the pallet may have a roughness or granulation so that the goods it supports cannot slide, as well as perforations to reduce the weight or lower the manufacturing cost.
The manufacturing system allows cleaning and washing with soaps and detergents and also brushing if necessary, which is difficult with currently known pallets, since water can swell or deform the wood. The pallet according to the invention can be stored outside without any additional type of protection.
Unlike current wooden pallets, the pallet according to the invention offers the advantage of being able to receive an impression of the user's mark or logo, either using paint given the large surface of the new pallet, either in a molded and indelible form during the injection process.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
- The blends of polypropylene and polyethylene, and certain additions to the blend, make the pallets flameproof which is an important safety advantage compared to the wooden ones currently on the market.
The resistance to humidity and impact facilitates handling of the pallet and it is also hygienic and well ventilated, as well as having a minimum and constant weight, offering the possibility of being produced in any color .
Ultimately, the pallet according to the invention can vary in thickness, in the measurements and additional details for the use of load transport by pallet, by presenting a monoblock system based on injection with the advantages indicated. previously.
According to the invention, the pallet is formed of a body in the form of a single piece, made of plastic material with a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene.
The pallet has a quadrangular surface and on one of its faces it has a few parallel prismatic projections in a transverse direction. These projections, having a prismatic shape, are located at the ends and in the central part, delimiting a few coupling grooves for the forks of lifting machines of this type.
In order to more easily understand not only the training but also the usefulness and the use of the pallet according to the invention, reference will be made below to a practical example of manufacture, this embodiment being rather exemplary and in no way limiting, and this with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 represents a perspective view of a pallet according to the invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Figure 2 shows a plan view of the top face.
Figure 3 shows a side view of the pallet.
If we refer to the drawings, they represent a pallet 1 according to the invention.
The pallet 1 is formed of a single body 2 which has a quadrangular part 3 of reduced height. One of the faces, designated by the reference 4, has some prismatic projecting parts 5 and
6. The parts 5 are located at the ends and the part 6 centrally so that spaces 7 are defined between each time two consecutive projecting parts.
The face 8 of the quadrangular part 3 forms the support surface intended for the load.
Having now sufficiently described the nature of the invention and how to put it into practice, it should be noted that the embodiments indicated above and shown in the accompanying drawings can be modified as regards the details, provided that the basic principle is not altered.
