Abstract
Perfected pallet characterized because it is formed of a body in a single piece formed by molding in plastic, preferably with a mixture of polyethylene and --polypropylene, whose body has a quadrangular flat portion of reduced height from one of whose large surfaces emerge a series of perpendicular prismatic portions, parallel and facing each other, between which are spaces to introduce and couple mechanical elements to raise the load placed on the upper face of the body, and which the flat quadrangular upper face has regular and/or irregular perforations over it.
Description
21591~1 PERFECTED PALLET
The object of the present invention is a perfected pallet.
Pallets presently found in the market for the system of palleting merchandise consist basically of a base formed by transversal wooden slats supported by lengths of the same material. They are joined by nails and the assembly is carried out pneumatically or similarly.
The innovation it is desired to protect consists of the pallet being made of plastic using a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene to form a single block or structure that offers the following advantages against the present one made of wood:
* Uniformity is obtained in the resistance of the pallet made in this way since the injection system allows dosification with respect to the components which makes the resistance of the pallet uniform. In existing wooden pallets there may be transversal slats of deteriorated wood since wood is a "living" material with knots and veins that makes uniform or continuous resistance in the pallet impossible.
* The pallet of the invention allows an important weight reduction since its manufacture by the injection system reduces its weight by at least half.
* Injection avoids the disadvantages of splintering and of points and nails that appear in conventional pallets and scrape the merchandise stored on them, and also can cause accidents to operators handling the pallet.
* The thickness of the support surface of the pallet of the invention may vary to give more resistance according to the load to be palleted, so that loads or merchandise with little weight can be palleted with pallets of small thickness and loads of greater weight 21~91~1 on pallets with greater thickness or weight. Also during injection a reinforcement system can be added using fibre glass which undoubtedly gives additional resistance.
* The continuous surface of the pallet can have roughness or granulation so that the merchandise it supports cannot slip and also perforations to decrease weight or lower the cost of manufacture.
* The manufacturing system allows cleaning and washing with soaps and detergents and also brushing if necessary, which is difficult with those currently known since water can make wood expand or deform. The pallet of the invention can be stored outdoors without any additional type of protection.
* Against present wooden ones, the pallet of the invention can incorporate the advantage of being able to print the brand or logo of the user, either with paint because of the large surface of the new pallet, or moulded and indelible during the injection system.
* The mixtures of polypropylene and polyethylene, and certain additions to the mixture, make the pallets flameproof which is an important safety advantage over those of wood presently commercialized.
* Resistance to humidity and knocks facilitates pallet handling, and it is also hygienic and well ventilated as well as having a minimum and constant weight, and the possibility of being produced in any colour.
Definitively, the pallet of the invention can vary in thickness, measurements and additional details for the use of palleting loads, in a monobloc system based on injection with the advantages indicated above.
According to the invention, the pallet is formed by a body in a single piece, made of plastic with a mixture of polyethylene and polypropylene.
The pallet has a quadrangular surface and on one of its faces has some prismatic salients in a transversal 21~9i~1 and parallel direction, also prismatic in shape, located at the ends and in the central part that define some coupling grooves for the forks of the lifting machines of this type.
In order to more easily understand not only the formation but also the usefulness and use of the pallet of the invention, reference is made below to a practical example of manufacture, with this execution being merely enunciative and in no case limiting the same, all as shown in the attached drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of the pallet of the invention.
Figure 2 shows a front view of the top face.
Figure 3 shows a lateral view of the pallet.
With reference to the drawings they show the pallet 1 of the invention.
The pallet 1 is formed by a single body 2 that has a quadrangular portion 3 of reduced height.
One of the sides, referenced with number 4, has some prismatic salient portions 5 and 6.
The portions 5 are at the ends and the portion 6 is centrally placed so that between each of the two consecutive portions some spaces 7 are defined.
The fact 8 of the quadrangular portion 3 forms the support surface for the load.
Having sufficiently described the nature of the invention and the manner of putting it into practice, it should be noted that the layouts indicated above and represented in the attached drawings may be modified in detail provided the basic principle is not altered.
