<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
Dans ces dessins, - la figure 1 est une vue en perspective d'une série suivant l'invention ; - la figure 2 est une vue en perspective d'une deuxième série suivant l'invention ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>
<Desc/Clms Page number 6>
Dans des formes de réalisation non représentées, mais similaires celle de la figure 1, on a utilisé en tant que lien : - un cordon de colle à froid ;
EMI6.3
<Desc/Clms Page number 7>
<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
EMI8.1
câble, ladite unité comportant un système d'éjection des c a crochets formés ; - des moyens 101 pour guider les crochets sortant de ladite unité de fabrication, ces moyens assurant que les crochets éjectés se place les uns derrière les autres ; - une unité 102 de comptage de crochets pour amener un nombre déterminé de crochets vers l'unité pour lier ensemble ces crochets ; - une unité 103 pour placer correctement les crochets les uns à côté des autres, par exemple pour tasser les crochets d'une ou de plusieurs séries l'un contre l'autre ; - une unité 104 de chauffage (four) d'au moins une partie des crochets ;
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>

Hooks for slates or tiles, manufacturing process and machine
The present invention relates to a series of hooks for fixing slates or tiles, said hooks having a core of which one end carries a hook for fixing a slate or tile and the other end of which carries a means for fixing the soul to a structure or support.
Until now, hooks for fixing slates or tiles are sold in boxes. Such hooks are for example made of copper, stainless steel (304 or 403 for example), copper-plated stainless steel, "Galfan" steel, etc. The hooks of a box, in particular when the box falls or is shaken, have the disadvantage of getting tangled with each other, so that it is not easy to take the hooks one by one out of the box. In addition, it has been observed that placing the hooks such as in a box means that the interior space of the box is not used optimally.
The subject of the present invention is a presentation of hooks making it possible to avoid or reduce the risk of hooks becoming entangled with each other. In addition, it was noted that presentations of hooks according to the invention made it possible to introduce a larger number of hooks in a box or to obtain better storage of the hooks in the box.
The subject of the invention is hooks in the form of a series, the hooks (stitching hooks or hooks with staples) of said series being connected to each other by means of a link adapted so that each hook is suitable for separate from the series by
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
exerting a force on the hook considered, without causing the separation of a hook adjacent to said hook considered.
Advantageously, the link (for example a strip, a strip of a film, a cord or a ribbon) connects the souls of the hooks, said link being adapted to allow the soul of the end hook of the series to be able to pivot relative to the core of the hook adjacent to said extreme hook.
According to one embodiment, the link is flexible and has areas for attaching the hooks to said link, two adjacent attachment areas being separated from each other by an area on which the hooks attached to the attachments are not attached. two attachment zones considered.
Preferably, in this embodiment, the distance separating two adjacent attachment zones is at least equal to the width of said attachment zones. In particular, when the webs of the hooks have a substantially circular cross section, the distance separating two adjacent attachment zones is at least equal to one third of the diameter of the cross section of the web of the hook.
According to a detail of an embodiment for hooks having as a means for fixing the core to a structure or to a support an end portion extending in a direction inclined with respect to the direction in which extends the 'soul, said end portions of the hooks of the series are spaced from each other by a distance at least equal to the thickness or diameter of the core.
According to a particular embodiment, the link is a strip provided with a layer of a hot-melt or thermosetting material or
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
thermopolymerizable. According to another particular embodiment, the link is a bead of glue (cold or hot, or with several components, for example with two components) or a strip provided with a bead of glue or zones of glues, said strip advantageously in the form of a foam support.
Preferably, the adhesive has an adhesive force on the strip greater than that on the hooks. In the case of a bead of adhesive connecting the hooks and not applied to a strip or a support, the bead advantageously has sufficient mechanical properties so that, when a hook is detached. of said cord (for example with a torsional force exerted on the cord), the cord does not break leaving a part of it adhering to the detached hook.
The series according to the invention may further comprise an adhesive strip intended to connect the faces of the souls of the hooks opposite to the faces of the souls of the hooks connected by said link, said adhesive strip having an adhesion force on the hooks less than that of said link and having characteristics allowing said strip to be detached or glued at will to hooks.
The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing series of hooks according to the invention. According to a method, hooks are placed on a guide so as to place the souls of the hooks according to the desired arrangement, in particular following one another, said hooks are heated or at least a part of them , and an area of a hot-melt or thermosetting or polymerizable strip is applied to a heated part of each hook to form, after cooling, a series of hooks connected together by said strip.
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
In particular, the hooks or the parts of the latter intended to be interconnected are heated to a temperature below the melting temperature of the strip, but to a temperature sufficient to obtain a softening of the zones of the strip in contact with the hooks or parts thereof.
Heating the hooks provides the desired adhesion strength of the hooks on the strip.
When using a strip with a bead of cold resin or cold glue, or a bead of cold resin or cold glue, or a bead of two-component glue (or more than two), l the heating step of the process according to the invention is not necessary. In this case, the choice of glue is important to obtain the desired adhesion strength.
The invention also relates to a machine for implementing the method according to the invention. This machine comprises a hook manufacturing unit from a cable, means for guiding the hooks leaving said manufacturing unit, possibly a hook counting and tamping unit intended to be part of one or more series. , a unit for heating at least part of the hooks, a unit for applying a hot-melt or thermosetting strip to heated parts of the hooks, and optionally a cooling unit.
Special features and details of the invention will emerge from the following detailed description in which reference is made to the accompanying drawings.
In these drawings, - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a series according to the invention; - Figure 2 is a perspective view of a second series according to the invention;
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
- Figure 3 is a perspective view of a third series according to the invention; - Figure 4 is a top view of a fourth series according to the invention; - Figure 5 is a schematic view of a machine according to the invention allowing the implementation of the method according to the invention; - Figure 6 is a view of a detail of the machine according to Figure 5, and - Figure 7 is a sectional view along line VIIVII of the series shown in Figure 1.
Figure 1 shows a first embodiment of a series 1 of hooks 2 for fixing slates or tiles. The hooks 2 have a core 20, one end 21 of which carries a hook 21a for fixing a slate or tile and the other end 22 of which carries a means 22a for fixing the core to a structure or to a support. The cores 20 of the hooks 2 of the series are connected to each other by means of a link 3 adapted so that each hook 2 is able to separate from the series by exerting a force on the hook considered, without causing the separation of a hook adjacent to said hook in question. This effort should preferably be able to be carried out with one hand.
The link 3 is adapted to allow the core 20 of the end hook 2 of the series to be able to pivot (arrow P) relative to the core 20 of the hook 2a adjacent to said end hook 2.
The link 3 is flexible and has zones 3a for attaching the cores of the hooks to said link 3, two adjacent attachment zones 3a being separated from each other by a zone 3b on which the hooks are not attached or glued attached to the two attachment zones considered 3a. The discancy "d" separating two
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
adjacent attachment zones is at least equal to the width "l" of the attachment zones 3a. Preferably, the
EMI6.1
distance "d" separating two adjacent attachment zones 3a is at least equal to one third of the diameter "D" of the cross section of the core 20 of the hook.
In the embodiment shown, the hooks 2 have as means 22a for fixing the core to a structure or to a support an end part
EMI6.2
extending in a direction "A" inclined with respect to the general direction "B" in which the core 20 extends. The link 3 is a strip of paper provided with a layer 30 of a hot-melt or thermosetting material or thermopolymerizable
In embodiments not shown, but similar to that of FIG. 1, the following were used as a link: - a bead of cold glue;
EMI6.3
- a foam tape provided with a layer of glue; - a bead of two-component glue; - a ribbon provided with a cord or a layer of resin which can be polymerized at room temperature.
In these embodiments, when the adhesive or resin adheres too strongly to the hooks, it may be advantageous to overheat the contact points between the hooks and the adhesive or resin, to degrade these contact points and thus reduce the points at these points. adhesion forces. This overheating can for example be obtained by heating one end or part of the hooks, a part which is separate from that in contact with the adhesive.
Figure 2 shows an embodiment similar to that shown in Figure 1, except that the hooks are alternated, that is to say that the
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
means 22a of hooks 2 is adjacent to a lateral end 1a of the series 1, while means 22a of hooks situated between two hooks the means of which is adjacent to the lateral end 1a is adjacent to the lateral end 1b opposite to the end there.
Figure 3 shows another embodiment of a series according to the invention. This series is characterized by the fact that the cores 20 of two adjacent hooks 2 are spaced from one another. The free space le '' located between two adjacent cores is for example sufficient to be able to insert into this space e the end of a nail or a finger, for example the thumb.
The link 3 is in the form of a flexible foam support on which are bonded (for example by melting or softening a layer of hot-melt adhesive) the souls of the hooks.
The series also includes an adhesive strip 5 intended to connect the faces of the souls of the hooks opposite to the faces of the souls of the hooks connected by the link 3. The adhesive strip 5 has an adhesion force on the hooks less than that exerted by the link 3 and has characteristics allowing said strip to be detached or glued at will to hooks. This adhesive strip 5 can thus be lifted with respect to one or more hooks before using said series and can be folded over the remaining hooks when the series of hooks should no longer be used.
Figure 4 shows an embodiment similar to that of Figure 1, except that said end portions 22a of the hooks of the series are spaced from each other by a distance "d3" to
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
less equal to the thickness or diameter D of the core. This distance "d3" is in particular s-ffisisante to allow a head of a hammer to strike on the core in the vicinity of its part 22a without touching an adjacent hook. In the embodiment shown, the hooks are placed in a fan shape.
FIG. 6 schematically shows a machine capable of manufacturing series according to the invention. This machine comprises: a unit 100 for manufacturing hooks from a
EMI8.1
cable, said unit comprising a system for ejecting the formed hooks; - Means 101 for guiding the hooks leaving said manufacturing unit, these means ensuring that the ejected hooks are placed one behind the other; a unit 102 for counting hooks to bring a determined number of hooks to the unit for binding these hooks together; a unit 103 for correctly placing the hooks one next to the other, for example for packing the hooks of one or more series against each other; - A heating unit 104 (oven) of at least part of the hooks;
a unit 105 for applying a hot-melt or thermosetting strip to heated parts of the hooks, this strip coming for example from a roller or from a reel; a unit 106 for cooling the hooks to which the strip is applied, and a unit 107 for packaging the series thus produced.
In the heating unit, the hooks or the parts of them intended to be interconnected are advantageously heated to a temperature
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
lower than the melting temperature of the strip, but at a temperature sufficient to obtain a softening of the zones of the strip in contact with the hooks or parts thereof. Thus, for example, if a temperature of the hooks of approximately 1750C must be reached to ensure complete melting of the strip during the hook-strip contact, the hooks in the machine according to the invention are only heated to a temperature of around 130-1400C. The heating unit advantageously comprises means for regulating the temperature.
The heating of the hooks must in fact be sufficient to form contact between the strip and the hooks, but must be sufficiently moderate to ensure that part of the face of the hooks turned towards the strip does not adhere to the strip (formation of 'a zone 3b).
The strip 3 can comprise a paper, plastic support (film or film), a foam support (for example made of polyurethane), the thickness of said support generally being less than 2 mm.
As shown in Figure 6, the hooks 2 are ejected from the unit 100, the core 20 of the hooks extending substantially in a horizontal plane. The means 101 is a rail 110, the end adjacent to the unit 100 has two branches 110a and 110b, said branches being arranged to gradually bring the core of the hooks from a horizontal position (outlet of the unit 100) to a substantially vertical position. These branches allow a pivoting movement of the core. The curved part 21a slides along the rail 110. The displacement of the hooks along the rail is obtained by sliding obtained by the slope of the rail and by gravity. A stop 111 mounted on the unit 100 ensures that the ejected hooks come to bear on the two branches 110a and 110b.
This stop
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
has a certain elasticity or flexibility with respect to the unit 100.
