<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

"Sheet with specially designed pin structure"
The present invention relates to a male plug, in particular to a V. D. E. (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker) plug, the conductive element and the pins of which are appropriately modified to improve and facilitate the assembly and manufacture of the plug.
A V.D.E plug is widely used in many European countries, notably in Germany. As illustrated in FIG. 1, such a male plug 1 comprises two pins 11 respectively for the positive pole and the negative pole, as well as an elastic receiving hole 12.
When such a plug 11 is inserted into a corresponding plug or socket 2, the two pins 11 will fit into two receptacles 21, while a grounding pin 22, projecting from the socket 2, will be introduced, correspondingly, into the elastic receiving hole 12 existing on the male plug l, that is to say that the pins of the positive pole, of the negative pole and of the earth are used when the male plug 1 is inserted into the socket or female plug 2.
A main object of the present invention is to provide a male plug of the VDE type, having a modified and improved conductive element, and this by providing a round connection in the vicinity of the inner and lower side of the conductive element for the wire intended to pass in this connection, the round connection comprising a head in extension and of a larger diameter, at its free end, so that a wire can be more conveniently connected to it.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a male plug of the type V. D. E., having a modified and improved structure of the pins. A groove is formed, suitably, in the vicinity of the rear end of each pin, and a series
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
protruding and tooth-shaped lines are further formed in the grooves. In this way, the pins can be better gripped in the seat provided for these pins, this seat being formed and connected simultaneously to these pins by injecting plastic material into a mold.
The technical means adopted to achieve the above-mentioned design goals, as well as the characteristics of the invention, can be better understood from the following detailed description given with reference to the accompanying non-limiting drawings.
Figure 1 shows the three-dimensional perspectives of a male plug V. D. E. 1 and a female plug or corresponding socket 2.
Figure 2 is a perspective view developed in three dimensions of a plug according to the present invention, this perspective showing the conductive element, a pin and the seat for the pins.
Figure 3 is a three-dimensional perspective of the component parts of Figure 2, in the assembled state.
Figure 4 illustrates the connection of the positive pole, the negative pole and the ground wire of the plug according to the present invention.
Figure 5 illustrates the injection, molding and assembly of the pins of the plug and the seat for the pins according to the present invention.
FIG. 1 illustrates a male plug V. D. E. 1 and a corresponding socket 2. The male plug 1 is made of a plastic material and it is molded by a two-stage injection.
In the first injection step, as illustrated in FIG. 5, the pins II are introduced into cavities existing in a male mold 31 of an injection molding apparatus. Then, the male mold is combined with a female mold 32 before injection and molding of the plastic to form a semi-finished product in which a seat 13 for the pins is firmly connected to the pins 11. Next, a conductive element 14 is mounted suitably with elastic interlocking on the seat 13 of the pins, and this as
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
illustrated in Figure 3.
After that, we make the connection of the positive pole, the negative pole and the ground wire, and the seat 13 to which the pins 11 are connected, the conductive element 14 and the wires is placed in another injection mold in view of the second plastic injection phase to form a VDE plug housing or sheath, as illustrated in Figure 1.
The present invention is characterized in that it provides a groove 111 formed near the rear end of each pin 11 and in that a series of projecting and tooth-shaped lines 112 are appropriately formed in the grooves 111.
An appropriate quantity of molten plastic material can penetrate and become housed in the grooves 111 when the first phase of the injection of plastic material is carried out. The plastic material entering the grooves 111 will ensure better attachment of the pins 11 on the seat 13 of these pins, when this plastic material has set.
In addition, since the projecting and tooth-shaped lines 112 are formed in the grooves 111, they will not have any harmful influence on the dimensional accuracy of the pins 11, that is to say that the pins 11 having a serrated groove near their rear end will not create any problem with regard to proper closure of the male and female molds of the injection mold. As can be seen in Figure 5, the body of the pins 11 is in close contact with the surface of the cavities existing in the male mold 31 or the female mold 32, and it is the body of the pins II which requires absolute precision. during manufacture.
In other words, the grooves 111 and the lines 112 existing in these grooves will only cause a partial variation of the dimensions without detrimental influence on the close contact of the pins 11 with the male and female molds 31,32. This is a technical improvement and a main object of the present invention.
The conductive element 14 is formed of a metal strip and it is suitably curved to have a required shape and curvature, as illustrated by FIG. 2. A head 141, in the form of a hook, is formed at each end of
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
the conductive element 14 to allow it to grip firmly on the seat 13 of the pins, and this as illustrated in FIG. 3.
An elastic receiving hole 12 intended to receive a ground pin 22 provided on the female plug or corresponding socket 2, is formed by two curved metal blades on the upper internal side of the conductive element 14, and a round connection element 15 , comprising a head 151 in extension and of larger diameter is provided in a suitable location near the lower internal side of the conductive element 14 to facilitate connection of the wire passing through the connection element 15.
In FIG. 4, it can be seen that the male plug 1 according to the present invention allows the connection, inside this plug, of three wires on one of the pins II constituting a positive pole, another pin 11 forming a negative pole, and the conductive element 14 intended for earthing. The extended and larger diameter head 151 of the round connecting element 15 can facilitate the introduction of a wire, once and for all, during the connection, either by a manual operation or by an automated operation. The head 151 can also be used as a point of force application if the round connection element 15 is to be mechanically flattened after introduction of a wire. In this way, any other further processing of the plug 1 can be done more conveniently.
