GELUIDSWERENDE INRICHTING
Figuur 1 een vooraanzicht voorstelt van een geluidswerende inrichting volgens de uitvinding gezien vanuit de geluidsbronzijde; Figuur 2 een doorsnede volgens de lijn II-II van fi-guur 1 voorstelt volgens een eerste uitvoeringsvoorbeeld van de geluidswerende inrichting volgens de uitvinding; Figuur 3 een analoge doorsnede als in figuur 2 voorstelt volgens een tweede uitvoeringsvoorbeeld van de geluidswerende inrichting volgens de uitvinding; Figuur 4 een analoge doorsnede als in figuur 2 op grotere schaal voorstelt volgens een uitvoeringsvoorbeeld van de geluidswerende inrichting volgens de uitvinding;
NOISE-PROOF DEVICE
This invention relates to a sound-proofing device with a supporting frame which has at least one niche for accommodating one sound-absorbing element in each case.
Its main application is as a sound-proofing wall, mainly to be placed along railways and busy traffic routes, but also along facades of buildings and along walls of production halls and test rooms in industry and around high-power transformers.
The Belgian patent BE-898879 already knows a soundproof wall intended to attenuate road and air traffic noise. The soundproof wall consists of a number of so-called wall plate elements. The absorbent cover of such a wallboard element consists of at least one layer of absorbent material. The sound-absorbing material is a mixture consisting at least partly of aggregates and binders. However, the sound-absorbing properties obtained with the known sound-proofing wall are still insufficient in certain acoustic frequency domains, in particular for the lower frequencies.
The object of the present invention is to overcome the above drawback. For this purpose, a sound-absorbing element having a predetermined mass and disposed at a predetermined distance from the bottom of the corresponding niche is provided to form a chamber of predetermined volume serving as a cavity with an added resonant frequency.
Thanks to the invention, the sound-absorbing effect of the sound-proofing device is improved by an appropriate combination of a porous sound-absorbing element of its predetermined mass with the resonance action of the chamber exhibiting a predetermined volume. These two system parameters, namely said mass and volume, impart a certain dynamic stiffness to the device.
The dynamic stiffness of the system thus obtained has an influence on the value of the natural frequency of the system. By responding to the value of the natural frequency of the system, it is very advantageous to select a frequency domain, in particular a low-frequency domain, in which an effective acoustic attenuation is obtained.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the chamber is filled with a sound-absorbing material. This allows the value of the system's resonant frequency to be adjusted.
The invention is further elucidated in the following description with reference to an exemplary embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 shows a front view of a soundproofing device according to the invention viewed from the sound source side; Figure 2 represents a section according to the line II-II of figure 1 according to a first exemplary embodiment of the soundproofing device according to the invention; Figure 3 represents an analogous cross-section as in Figure 2 according to a second exemplary embodiment of the soundproofing device according to the invention; Figure 4 represents an analogous cross-section as in Figure 2 on a larger scale according to an exemplary embodiment of the soundproofing device according to the invention;
Figure 5 is a column diagram showing the absorption coefficient as a function of frequency in the classic case; Figure 6 is a graphical representation of the absorption coefficient as a function of frequency according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention; Figure 7 is an analogous diagram as in Figure 6 according to a further embodiment of the invention.
A first exemplary embodiment of a sound-proofing device according to the invention is shown in Figures 1 and 2. It comprises a sound-insulating supporting frame 1, which for instance consists of a panel of concrete in which recesses 10 are provided, such that the supporting frame has a cell structure on one side. The niche configuration consists, for example, of a two-dimensional homogeneous distribution of square niches 10. However, the niches can also have an elongated or other suitable shape which is adapted to the shape of the sound-absorbing elements to be fitted therein. 3. The niches have porous sound-absorbing elements 3. which are made, for example, from porous or lightweight concrete, composite materials or resins.
Figure 1 illustrates the case of a support frame 1 with a single niche 10 with a square section in which a sound-absorbing element 3 is housed, for example for use in building facades. The sound-absorbing function is incorporated by the sound-absorbing element 3, while a sound-insulating function is incorporated by the supporting frame 1. Figure 2 shows a niche 10 of the soundproofing device in section. A sound-absorbing element 3 is accommodated in the niche 10.
The sound-absorbing element 3 here has on both sides a substantially smooth surface and a flat structure. The sound-absorbing element 3 is arranged at a certain distance from the niche bottom 16. The space thus formed forms an air chamber 6, the volume of which can be adjusted by playing on the relative position of the sound-absorbing element 3 with respect to the niche bottom 16.
The air chamber 6 acts as a resonance chamber. In addition, the absorbent mass of the element 3 is variable and is a function of the nature of the material and of its shape and dimensions. The cooperation of both adjustable parameters thus gives rise to an adjustable resonance effect.
The acoustic efficiency can be further improved by providing an acoustic active covering layer 17, respectively. 18 on the side of the sound-absorbing element 3 facing the niche floor and on the niche bottom 16 and possibly along the side walls of the niche 10 up to the height of the sound-absorbing element 3.
According to the exemplary embodiment shown in Figure 3, between the niche 10 and the sound-absorbing element 3, the chamber 6 is advantageously filled with a sound-damping or sound-absorbing material 19, whether or not the same as that of the sound-absorbing element 3, or a sound-insulating material. In addition to an improvement of the acoustic properties, a higher stability of the whole is also obtained.
Figure 4 shows the sound-absorbing elements 3 in the form of a cap. They thus have a top 4 and upright edges 5. Here, adjoining sound-absorbing elements 3 are separated from each other by partitions 2 in such a way that the partitions 2 and the upright edges 5 almost fit together. The partitions 2 are made, for example, from reinforced concrete. They provide higher rigidity to the device. The sound-absorbing elements 3 lie as a hood against the supporting frame 1, thereby covering the bottom 16 of the niche 10 and the top part 4 supporting on the niche bottom circumference via the upright edges 5. The volume of the chamber 6 is here determined by the shape and dimensions of the sound-absorbing element 3, whereby the chamber 6 is delimited.
Chamber 6 is, for example, filled with air, but can also be filled with another material as shown in figure 3.
The absorbing and reflecting effect of the surface of the acoustical wave sound-absorbing element provides an effective absorbing effect of the surface in a frequency range above 500 Hz as shown in the graph of Figure 5 showing the absorption coefficient a depending on the frequency.
The disadvantage here is that with the use of such acoustic screens, low frequencies are below
500 Hz are absorbed little or insufficiently as shown in figure 5. However, both road and rail traffic in built-up areas and in industrial areas near test chambers where, for example, mechanical fracture tests and the like are carried out and in the vicinity of production workshops or high-power transformers, disturbing frequencies are generated, also in the low-frequency domain. Consequently, there is a need in practice to absorb such low frequencies to a high degree.
In the case of the resonance effect, the predetermined calculated resonator frequency is operated. One can thus have an effective acoustic effect within a specific so-called frequency window.
Figure 6 hereby represents the logarithmic progression of the absorption coefficient a as a function of the frequency for a sound-proofing device according to the invention for a first distance between top part 4 of the absorbent element 3 and the niche bottom 16 of 10 cm. When comparing the curve curve according to figure 5 (classical device) with that according to figure 6 (device according to the invention with low mass), it is immediately noticeable that the absorption coefficient for the frequencies below about 500 Hz is markedly higher at the device according to the invention in the classic case.
Figure 7 shows how by working with a nearly doubled distance of 20 cm the acoustic efficiency in the sense of absorption for lower frequencies, in particular in the frequency domain included between
100 and 200 Hz, i.e. the lower limit of the frequency domain that concerns us, is even stronger than in the previous case of figure 6.
The invention thus provides a device whose advantageous acoustic effect is based on a combination of the absorbing effect of the porous sound-absorbing element with the resonance effect of the chamber, whose absorption results between 70 and
500 Hz and above are excellent.
In order to further increase the acoustic damping effect, an uneven surface is provided on at least one (externally and / or internally turned) side of the recess-closing part 4 of the sound-absorbing element 3, for example in the form of successive projections 12, 13 or indentations. The protrusions or indentations, for example, have the shape of a truncated pyramid and are advantageously over almost the entire surface of the exterior, respectively. internally facing side of the top 4. The uneven surfaces can also be formed by continuous ribs. For example, the top portion 4 closing the niche 10 is substantially straight as shown in Figures 2 to 4. It could also have a curved shape and further shapes that increase the surface area of the sound-absorbing element 3.
In order to increase the strength of the sound-absorbing element 3, a reinforcement 14, for example of metal, is recessed in its interior.
In order to further increase the strength of the sound-proofing device, the partitions 2, which function as support and enclosure for the sound-absorbing elements 3, also have a reinforcement 15 as shown in figure 4.
It goes without saying that the invention is by no means limited to the above-described embodiment and that variants thereof fall within the scope of the invention.
