L'invention a pour but de procurer une garniture pour base de poteau ou potelet, utilisé notamment pour la signalisation et l'éclairage, dont la fonction principale est de couvrir une zone du sol entourant la base du poteau pour empêcher la germination et , la croissance des végétaux dans cette zone, ce qui facilite grandement l'entreitien des sûr aces herbeuses dans lesquelles sont généralement implantés les poteaux en permettant un fauchage mécanique intégral et parfait des végétaux croissant sur ces surfaces et autour des poteaux sans risque de détériorer ces derniers, alors que jusqu'à présent, lorsque l'on ne laissait pas subsister les végétaux entourant les poteaux et masquant partiellement ceux-ci, afin de ne pas dégrader ces poteaux par contact de la faucheuse,
on éliminait ces végétaux soit par fauchage manuel à l'aide de débroussailleuses, opération qui endommage les poteaux et qui est très onéreuse car elle réclame beaucoup de main- d'oeuvre et beaucoup de temps, soit par l'utilisation de désherbants, 'qui nuisent à l'environnement en polluant les eaux de ruissellement.
La garniture suivant l'invention a également comme fonctions accessoi- res, mais importantes, de renforcer l'ancrage du poteau dans le sol et d'améliorer de façon notable la présentation dudit poteau.
