Description

Method by submarine operations at large sea depths
Hie invention is related to a method concerning sub¬ marine operations at large sea depths.
As extraction of natural occurencies increasingly ar performed at larger sea depths, the requirement for inspect and possibilities to perform works of different kind at tho sea depths, also exists. Even if the operation depths for divers by new technology and new procedures constantly is increased, there will exist need behind this area for the use of divers bells of different kinds, even if the possibil ties of remote controlled units steadily is expanded.
Diver bells built for such sea depths which are requi will be very expensive of natural reasons, as to the design very complicated and correspondingly voluminous.
By the method according to the invention part of thos disadvantages connected to design and construction of such divers bells for large sea depths, are avoided, according to the features stated in the characterizing clause of the pate claims.
The diver bell designed for a sea depth corresponding to a pressure D1 may be used at considerably larger sea dept corresponding to a pressure D- if the internal atmosphere of the diver bell is maintained at a pressure D- in such a way the difference between D, and D~ constantly is kept less than D1.
In this way the possibilities for the use of diver bells is considerably expanded.
Diving below the depths for which the diver bell is designed is connected with a need for the personnel vΛiich is to be accomodated in the diver bell during submerging, to undergo a compression in such a way that they can live at th pressure D2« Thereafter the diver bell may be submerged to the depth corresponding to the pressure D,, inspection works or other works may be performed, whereafter the diver bell may be lifted and the personnel in the diver bell will have to go through a phase of decompression.
By the method according to the invention the applicat of the diver bell is considerably expanded and principly thi is only limited by the maximum acceptable compression pressu for the personnel.

  1. P a t e n t C l a i m
    Method by submarine operations at large sea depths, characterized in the use of a diver bell designed and constructed to withstand an outer pressure D1 - to submersion to a sea depth where an outer pressure D^ exists, which is considerably larger than D.., whereby the internal pressure in the diver bell is an increased pressure D, in such a way that the difference between the pressures D3 and D2 constant is less than the pressure D1 for which the diver bell is designed, whereas the personnel in the diver bell before submersion go through a phase of compression.
