Abstract

In a method for channel scanning by the receiver of a telecontrol system, the squelch signal of the RF section of the receiver is scanned for presence of an RF signal in the channel set and only then further switching or evaluating processes of the receiver are initiated in dependence on the result of this scan. As a result, the channel search normally used is considerably accelerated by scanning the received message addresses without requiring additional expenditure since the squelch signal is available in any case in the standard chips which are normally used and of which the RF receiver is constructed. <IMAGE>
