Abstract

1. In its basic concept the invention specifically resides in - a range of magnetic floor buffer - scrubber - polisher - grinder - plate, drive board apparatuses, to fit the popular widely sold Floorex grinder, whereby this plate design - drive board apparatuses attaches too this brand, design type of grinder via use of its proprietary magnetic diamond tool attachment system, that quickly converts this grinder into a floor buffer, floor polisher, floor scrubber, floor sander, that uses all know art floor buffer, grinding, cleaning, sanding plate designs and consumables, this new invention also relates to a new Diamabrush diamond tool and Spring magnetic spring plate design, which can be attached and used on a Floorex grinder or other grinder floor machine design, this invention, also specifically relates to "a range of single plate - drive board apparatuses - that contain multiple magnetic attachment plate plugs, studs, holes, inserts, that match the various proprietary magnetic floor grinder, arrangement or diamond tool - Plate driver - attachment systems", as currently used on floor sanders, polishers, buffers and Concrete Power Trowels, which use or have adopted magnetic attachment systems. Tapered Puck Plate Invention
Specification
People who work in the concrete preparation, concrete, and flooring industry in Australia commonly use, own or hire grinders manufactured by the Floorex grinder company, in particular the 380, 480, 650 passive planetary grinder models, these popular grinder models are a very mature, attractive, well developed product designs, that mostly owes its popularity to a unique fast diamond tool change system, whereby tapered diamond tool pucks and cup wheels can be quickly attached onto the bottom of the grinder, via a male plug, female magnetic insert and female puck tool insert design, combination whereby cup wheels and diamond puck tooling can be quickly and firmly attached and removed without the need for tools, comprised of a 50mm female magnetic insert in the grinder drive plate, diamond tooling such as cup wheels are attached by use of an additional female magnetic insert, which reduces the hole size down to 22.2mm which is the size of the centre hole diameter of common cup wheels, whereby a plug is inserted within the centre hole of the magnetic female hole insert, which hold the cup wheel on by strong magnetic forces, these cavities at the bottom of this grinder range are contained within a flexible magnetic rubber coupling plate system on the grinder shaft, located within the dust skirt housing on the bottom of the grinder, so popular and commercially successful has this passive planetary floor grinder design become, it has now become the worlds "Volksgrinder" as it has been inevitably been stolen and copied by Chinese manufacturers and sold at very low prices.
Innovating and piggy backing of the sales success of this floor grinder design worldwide, this new useful invention relates to a range of new floor buffer scrubber - polisher - grinder - plate, drive board apparatuses and designs, that firstly allows this popular grinder, to quickly and easily be converted into a floor buffer, floor polisher, floor scrubber, floor sander, tool, via use of its magnetic diamond tool attachment system, secondly this new invention provide a means for adoption and use of more advance diamond tool designs such as the Diamabrush plate range, bush hammer plate, hook and loop and Mathew Norton plate design, to create a more capable versatile floor preparation machine, whereby to achieve this the first embodiment of this invention, relates to a floor buffer quick release drive board, mounted onto a magnetic grinder drive board apparatus [see image 1], for the intended purpose of allowing all floor buffer and scrubber plates and consumables currently stocked and sold in cleaning stores, to be retro fitted to the Floorex grinder, this hybrid magnetic quick release drive board apparatus is distinctive by the fact that it has 3 or more holes or 3 fixed plugs - studs located on grinder attachment plate, that have recessed holes on both the bottom and top of the plate to insure firm seating over the magnetic holder, that slightly protrudes off the grinder driver plate, and provides a means for flush plug alignment at the bottom side of the plate where the floor buffer abrasives are attached too, the second embodiment of this apparatus relates to a new grinder, floor buffer/scrubber, concrete power trowel, magnetic plate and spindle driver design, that transfers this invention magnetic plate technology claimed above and in the drawings submitted, or variant of, onto other designs and brands of grinding, floor preparation/cleaning and concrete power trowel machines.
This innovative, useful and inventive step negates the need for flooring contractors to own much in the way of additional floor preparation machines to sand between epoxy coats, clean concrete, polish floors, or even concrete which can be done using common floor buffer, polisher, sander, scrubber, plate designs, and more advanced diamond tool designs such as the Diamabrush and Mathew Norton plate system
Brief description of drawings In the drawings
Figure 1. Image 1 shows plate that contains the recessed holes or fixed plugs/studs, and means of attachment onto magnetic inserts, located and inserted into grinder drive shaft
Figure 2. Image 2 shows a flor buffer quick release drive board apparatus, with recessed holes - attached to the magnetic quick/attachment/release drive board apparatus, that contains the required holes or fixed plugs - studs located on the plate, the recessed 3 to 5mm on both the bottom and top of the plate to insure tighter firmer seating of the plate to the grinder
Figure 3. - Image 3, Shows an example of a new range of floor buffer plate design ie., bush hammer, plate with recessed holes
While this invention will be described in connection with one or more preferred embodiments, it will be understood that the description is not intended to limit the invention to the plate design embodiments described. On the contrary, the description is intended to cover all alternatives, modifications and equivalents as may be included within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the attached claims.
Thus usage of the invention can be employed in accordance with the following guidelines
1. Attach the quick release magnetic drive board apparatus or plate desired for use underneath the grinder and attach hook and loop driver pad and or - abrasives or plate system desired
2. Attach to grinder
