Abstract

Louvre Systems Australia Pty Ltd Abstract A concealed motorised Louvre window system used in buildings that adjusts and controls ventilation, natural light, providing vision or privacy and protection from varying weather conditions concealing the powered operating device used to open and close the Louvre window concealed within the Louvre window which consists of framing members used to construct a perimeter around the Louvre gallery which is made up of a head member, a sill member, a jamb member on opposite sides and a pair of Louvre galleries that connect to the Louvre operating mechanism contained within the Louvre Gallery that is connected to the invention that bridges between the motorised device and the operating mechanism inside the Louvre gallery that when force is applied opens and closes the Louvre window to the desired position whilst concealing all the components used to operate the Louvre window in the Louvre window frame jamb. Description

EDITORIAL NOTE 2013100577 There is two pages of the description only Radial Link for Motorised Louvre Windows Field of Invention The invention relates a Louvre window and in particular to a motorised or automated Louvre window system using a linear motor concealed in the jamb of the Louvre window frame connected to an energy source used to open and close the Louvre window. The invention provides a mechanical link between the operating mechanism of the Louvre gallery and a motorised device allowing the Louvre window to open and close with the motor, connectors, and shafts rods, links concealed within a protective housing or within the framing of the Louvre window. Background Art There are a number of devices that connect to a Louvre Gallery that allow the Louvre window to be opened and closed. These mechanisms include: * A handle or lever that manually operates the Louvre window. The handle is manufactured in various configurations and sizes and projects to the inside of the Louvre Window or Louvre Gallery. The Louvre window is opened and closed by applying a force to the handle usually by lifting in a vertical direction allowing the Louvre blade to open and close. * An electric motor that is mounted to the outside surface of the Louvre Window that is connected to an extended Louvre handle that projects beyond the Louvre Gallery or Louvre window frame and operated by a series of rods, brackets and pins that and mounted to the external surface of the Louvre Window or the structure which the Louvre window is mounted. The rods, motors, connectors and wiring are exposed and can be clearly seen and accessed by anyone operating the Louvre Window. * A remote winder which manually operated and connected to a Louvre window by a series of brackets, rods and cables contained in a housing that is surface mounted to the outside of the Louvre window frame or the structure that the Louvre Window has been installed. The Remote window winder and a gear box that when force is an applied to the handle by turning in a clock wise and anti clock wise direction allows the Louvre blade to open and close. * In each case mentioned above Louvre window opens and closes by the movement of a lever or handle that is exposed and extends beyond the Louvre window framing and connects to at least one exposed operating bar contained within the Louvre Gallery that when a force is applied the Louvre window open and closes. * An electric barrel or drum motor mounted within the window head or window sill that connects with a gearbox to the top or bottom of the 2 parallel bars that is contained within the Louvre gallery which when power is applied oscillates and turns clockwise or in a counter clockwise direction opening and closing the Louvre window. The design relies on a limit switch device to rotate the gearbox to the full extent of the open and close position with considerable force and requires the Louvre gallery to be removed should maintenance or repairs be required. Prior to the invention a common method of automating or motorising a Louvre Window using linear motor or screw actuator motor is to connect the actuator or motor to the handle of the Louvre gallery. In some designs adaptors are fixed to the handle to extending handle and attached to at least one operating bar contained within the Louvre Gallery. This method of motorisation or automation of the Louvre window requires all the rods, bars mounting brackets, fixings and the Linear motor or screw actuator to be mounted to the external surface of the Louvre window or structure that the Louvre window is mounted and is fully exposed and in view and in some instances accessible by the Louvre window operator. Prior to the invention a common method of automating or motorising a Louvre Window using linear motor or screw actuator motor is to connect the actuator or motor to the handle or leaver of the Louvre gallery. In some designs the Louvre gallery is manufactured with an extended handle that is attached to at least one operating bar contained within the Louvre Gallery. This method of motorisation or automation of the Louvre window requires all the rods, bars mounting brackets, fixings and the Linear motor or screw actuator to be mounted to the surface of the Louvre window or structure that the Louvre window is mounted fully exposed and in view and in some instances accessible by the Louvre window operator.
