Abstract
Method of orientation of a rock drilling rig (4) relative to a coordinate system defined in a rock body. According to the invention information about desired rock volumes for blasting in the coordinate system of the rock body is stored in a memory of the rock drilling rig (4). The information is presented to the operator who through successive choices chooses a desired rock face (3) for drilling. The local coordinate system of the rock drilling rig (4) is connected to the coordinate system of the rock body through orienting a feed beam (6) on the rock drilling rig (4) with the aid of a laser beam (2) defined in the coordinate system of the rock body.
Description
O METHOD OF ORIENTATION OF A ROCK DRILLING RIG O The present invention relates to a method of orientation of a rock drilling rig Z relative to a coordinate system defined in a rock body.
0 In a prior art method, as described in patent document SE 460077 or the corresponding CA 1322968, one uses two ultrasonic transmitters placed on a O0 0feed beam and three microphones which have been placed in a plane with the aid of a laser beam and a rotatable goniometer. The position of the microphone C 10 plane along the laser beam is measured by a measuring tape.
It is desired to achieve a simplified method where the local coordinate system of the rock drilling rig is connected to the coordinate system of the rock body.
In accordance with a first aspect of the present invention there is provided a method of orientation of a rock drilling rig relative to a coordinate system defined in a rock body, characterised in that information about desired rock volumes for blasting is stored in a memory of the rock drilling rig, that the information is presented to the operator, that the operator, guided by the presented information through successive choices, chooses a desired rock face for drilling, and that the local coordinate system of the rock drilling rig is connected to the coordinate system of the rock body through orientating a feed beam on the rock drilling rig with the aid of a laser beam defined in the coordinate system of the rock body.
In accordance with a second aspect of the present invention there is provided an apparatus for orientation of a rock drilling rig relative to a coordinate system defined in a rock body, including means for storing information about desired rock volumes to be blasted by the drilling rig: an interface for enabling a rock drilling rig operator to make successive choices to determine a desired rock face for drilling the rock volume; a visual display of the drilling rig arranged to provide the operator with the information that enables the making of the choices r"- O and provide a visual representation of the rock face in the coordinate system of N the rock body and the information about the rock volumes to be blasted; a O navigation laser of the drilling rig adjustable to allow navigation of the drilling rig Z with respect to the rock face; and a feed beam of the drilling rig adjustable to be 0 5 orientated to coincide with a beam emitted from the navigation laser to the rock face, whereby the control system of the drilling rig is enabled to connect the local coordinate system of the drilling rig with that of the rock body through said 00 0 alignment, and blast the desired rock volume defined in the coordinate system of a the rock body.
0 N With the present invention one is enabled to use one orientation for drilling a whole round.
An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 shows a screen picture with a level in a mine; Fig. 2 shows a screen picture with a part of the level according to Fig. 1; and Fig. 3 shows a rock drilling rig with a feed beam oriented with the aid of a laser beam.
At the planning office of the work site a data file defining the rock volume to be blasted is given and which can be handled by the control system of the rock drilling rig. This information about desired volumes for blasting is stored in the memory of the rock drilling rig. In order to orient the rock drilling rig the operator first chooses a level and then an area 1 of this level. The result of these choices is presented for the operator on the ordinary display of the rock drilling rig as shown in Fig. 1. In the shown example on the level is 1015 and the area AVOS.
Then front and rock face where the rig is situated is chosen. When this has been done a picture according to Fig. 2 is shown. The operator then adjusts horizontal and vertical angles and the distance for the navigation laser used. The position 2 of the laser beam and the rock face 3 are now drawn on the display. In order to O connect the local coordinate system 4 of the rock drilling rig to the coordinate Ssystem of the rock body a boom 5 on the rock drilling rig 4 is driven such that a o feed beam 6 is oriented with the aid of a laser beam 2. When this has occurred Zthe control system of the rock drilling rig knows where the rock drilling rig is 0 5 situated in the coordinate system of the rock body. After this it is possible in a simple and efficient way to drill and blast the desired rock volume defined in the
(N
coordinate system of the rock body.
