Abstract

The invention relates to a device for filtering air, in particular to an air-filter insert (500) for filter-ventilators of switchgear cabinets. According to the invention, the space between the exterior surfaces of the device that face different sides of the filter does not exceed a maximum layer thickness. Said device is designed in such a way that at least one of its exterior surfaces is equipped with depressions to increase the surface area, thus obtaining lower losses of pressure, an increased trapping capability, a higher degree of deposition, in addition to a longer service life, a greater volumetric flow and a quieter air circulation.
