Abstract

The element has a double-walled, supporting pipe, the outer and inner shell (4, 5) of which are in the form of metal pipes. The outer and the inner shell (4, 5) are connected by means of end caps (9, 10). The cavity between them is filled with an insulating material (6). A refractory lining pipe (2) made of bonded ceramic fibres is provided in the supporting pipe (1). An intermediate space (3) is formed between the outer side of the lining pipe and the inner shell (5). Consequently, the aggressive condensate produced in the lining pipe does not substantially reach the inner shell (5) and is evaporated by the air circulation in the intermediate space, so that no corrosion occurs. The lining pipe (2) serves as flue-gas passage and as heat insulation, so that the flow of heat to the supporting pipe part is checked and the maximum permissible temperature values at its outer shell (5) are not exceeded. <IMAGE>
