Abstract

The lifting device comprises a lifting platform (1) with a drive unit (7) integrated therein. Flexible toothed belts (8, 9, 10) are attached by their one end (11, 12, 13) in each case to the inwardly projecting surfaces of two spaced-apart parallel side walls (2, 3) of a furniture unit. The toothed belts extending vertically downwards from the attachment points are deflected to the drive unit (7) by deflection rollers (15, 16, 18) arranged on the lifting platform (1) and fed to said drive unit. They are in engagement with driven toothed wheels which are present in the drive unit (7). The lifting platform (1) is raised and lowered respectively by simultaneously drawing-in or return of the toothed belts. The lifting device (1) can be used in the same embodiment in furniture elements for working areas of different heights. It is particularly suitable for kitchens for the retractable storage of kitchen appliances. <IMAGE>
