Abstract

The movable bending tool (6) of a press brake (1) is driven with the aid of a stepping motor (8) which has a positioning control with which any desired step angle of the stepping motor (8) and hence any desired angle of the bending tool can be preselected, allowing different bends to be carried out on the same press brake (1). If two bending tools are provided and at least one of these is adjustable towards the other, preferably likewise with the aid of a stepping motor (12), virtually universal processing is possible of workpieces which are to be bent at two mutually opposite edges, as is the case, for example, with pressure plates (2). <IMAGE>
