Abstract
Gray tinting involves chromium plating a metallic surface. The chromium plated metallic surface is plated with black chromium. The black chromium plating of the chromium plating metallic surface is carried out for 1, preferably 5 min galvanic treatment time. The chromium plating includes galvanic metallization, particularly copper metallization, and galvanic high polish metallization, particularly high polish nickel or copper metallization of the metallized surface in acidic solution.
