Abstract

Each counting point (Zp1-Zp3) has two rail contacts (Sk1,Sk2). The first and then the second rail contact detect axles of a passing rail vehicle according to each direct of the passing rail vehicle. An evaluation of the detected axles uses the rail contacts to connect to the expected direction of a passing rail vehicle e.g. a train and to an occupied/free circuit on adjacent rail sections. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a counting point with an evaluator unit and two rail contacts; (b) a calculating counter for processing signals from two counting points.
