Abstract

The invention relates to a three-row or four-row diatonic accordion which on the outside of the keyboard, on the right hand side of the accordion, has an additional row of 11 keys. When pressed these keys produce different sounds which depend on the tuning of the accordion and are independent of the direction of movement of the bellows. On the bass side, that is on its left hand side, the accordion has an additional four keys and a mechanical connection between two of these keys to facilitate their use. This connection makes it possible to play the diatonic accordion such that when playing bass tones the direction of movement of the bellows does not have to be adjusted in line with said bass tones.
