Abstract

Preferably following filtration, an 8%-25% side stream (QT) of the water recirculated is branched off and treated with ozone. The stream is sent to a reaction vessel (5), where adequate residence time is allowed, before return to the main stream (QH). Preferred features: 10%-25% of the water is branched off for ozone addition. At the reaction vessel (5) outlet, the ozone excess is measured. Control of ozone dosing (11) assures that a set residual ozone content is not exceeded in the side stream. Ozone residual content must not be allowed to exceed 0.2-0.6 mg/l, preferably 0.25-0.5 mg/l. Side stream ozonization is continued without reduction overnight, and when bathing is reduced. Gaseous residual ozone and ballast air are led off from the reaction vessel through a venting plant (6), with absorption in an activated carbon filter (7).
