Abstract
Applying a metal coating comprises applying a galvanic metal coating to graphite components after they have been subjected to an alkaline anodic caustic bath. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a solder join with a graphite component. Preferred Features: A lead layer is formed on the graphite components before the metal coating is applied. The lead layer is reinforced by the current-less deposition of nickel or copper. The caustic bath has a temperature of 20-70 degrees C.
