Abstract

In optical signal processing, a correlator is proposed which identifies a predefined codeword transmitted in a serially transmitted optical signal by feeding the optical signal in parallel to a plurality of delay lines in each case with a different delay period and by converting the signals transmitted by the delay lines in each case independently into electric signals whose evaluation produces a significant output signal only when the predefined codeword is transmitted. <IMAGE>
