Abstract

The subject of the invention is a snap button for flat material (8), consisting of an upper part and of a lower part, the upper part and the lower part each consisting of a rivet shank (9, 16), which acts on the flat material (8), with a moulded-on rivet flange (11, 17) and of a catch part (ball (2)/eye (1)) on the other side of the flat material (8), in which catch part the rivet shank (9, 16) is riveted and in the eye (1) a spring (3) is arranged as spring element whose inner limbs are inserted resiliently in two parallel slots (4) in the inner part of the eye (1). In order to allow centring of the ball (2) in the eye (1), it is proposed that the spring (3) is arranged in a spring housing (5) so as to be offset in the axial direction towards the centre of the eye (1) and that a centring cone (7) is moulded onto the spring housing (5) on the inner side of the eye (1), and that the spring housing (5) has a bead (6) on the outer side and the spring (3) is embossed in the direction towards the ball (2). <IMAGE>
