Abstract

A safety device serves for securing windows and doors against opening by force. The safety device (1) consists essentially of two holding parts, one being designed as an approximately rail-shaped carrier part (6) having an undercut profiling and the other holding part being designed as a closing part (7) pushable onto the carrier part in the longitudinal direction and possessing matching counter profilings. The closing part (7) has a laterally projecting closing tab. Where a window is concerned, the carrier part (6) is screwed firmly to the window frame and the closing part (7) pushed onto the carrier part (6) in the locking position engages with its closing tab over the edge of the window wing. For the closing part (7) there can be a mounting (14) which holds captive the closing part removed from the carrier part (6). <IMAGE>
