Cooling device for internal combustion engines.
EMI1.1
The suction side and the water spaces of the cylinder head are on the pressure side of the cooling water pump. Due to the circulation caused by the distribution of cooling on both the suction side and the pressure side of the pump, that is, in such a way that some of the cooled surfaces are in the suction flow and the other
Part, namely the hottest surfaces, are in the pressure flow of the pump, there will be steam formation in the

machine with overhead control shaft illustrated.
1 is an overhead control shaft which is driven by the crankshaft 3 through the intermediary of a vertical shaft 2. On one end of the control shaft 1, the fan 4 is arranged and on the other end of the control shaft 1, the z. B. designed as a centrifugal pump 5 cooling water pump. The cooling water pump, which creates the inevitable circulation of the cooling water, sucks the water through the cooling jacket 6 of the cylinder block and pushes it through the water spaces 7 of the

clear the cylinder head a smaller one. Own cross-section than that. Cooling jackets of the cylinders on the suction side, the cooling water passes through on the pressure side with greater speed than on the
Suction side and therefore the heat exchange on the pressure side is increased.
Since the water spaces of the cylinder head are located in the pressure line of the pump, the formation of steam in these water spaces is also prevented. The arrangement of the pump on the overhead control shaft enables the cooling water to be pressed directly over the cylinder heads and the exhaust valves, i.e. the hottest parts of the machine, and therefore these are effectively cooled.
The cooling water pump can also be designed as a piston pump or in some other way and can be connected to any
Place, but always so that the water spaces of the cylinder head are on the pressure side o and the cooling jackets of the cylinders arf on the suction side.
PATENT CLAIMS: 1. Cooling device for internal combustion engines, characterized in that the cooling jackets (6) of the cylinders are on the suction side and the water spaces (7) of the cylinder head are on the pressure side of the cooling water pump (5).
