Refill height indicator on collecting tanks on air conveyors for bulk goods.
Collecting tanks on air conveyors for bulk goods must not be filled too full, otherwise there is always the risk of bulk goods being dragged into the pump and causing damage there.
Now it is very difficult to tell when the collection tank is full. One has completely abandoned sight glasses because they gather so much dust in a short time that one can no longer see through.
One has therefore built all sorts of intricate bulk height indicators, z. B. electrical Kontaktvorriehtungen that compress under the load of the bulk material and so indicate the amount of filling.
However, all these facilities have not been satisfactory, the contact devices, e.g. B. not because bridges are often formed over them, so that they are not stressed enough or not at all and consequently do not respond.
The invention now makes it possible to use the simple and reliable sight glass on collecting tanks to determine the dump height. It has been shown that it is only the dust that makes the sight glass opaque. According to the invention, this dust can now be removed by directing the incoming conveyed material past the sight glass at high speed.
The larger good parts carried along by the air flow knock loose the dust parts. The dust particles are then carried away by the air flow. The air stream laden with good can easily, for. B. be bypassed by the sight glass that a guide plate is installed in the collecting tank, which forces the air flow to pass the sight glass.
The effect of the device becomes particularly clear when the air stream laden with material is forced to flow directly over the surface of the debris collected in the collecting vessel. A transparent point is then created on the sight glass above the bulk goods, which almost indicates the bulk height as a mark. The device can be made so that the effect occurs essentially only at the level of the sight glass.
The drawing gives an example of the invention. j! is a collecting tank from which air is sucked through the pipe 2. At 3, the air flow loaded with material enters. A guide plate 4 is attached to the cover of the collecting vessel so that the air flow is deflected downwards. At the same time, however, it can also emerge on one side at 5 or on both sides of the metal sheet 4.
Initially, only a little air with bulk material emerges on the sides 5; but as soon as the height of the bulk material is no longer far from the lower edge of the sheet 4, the inflowing air flows out more and more at 5, flows at high speed over the surface of the bulk material past the sight glass 6 and thereby cleans it directly above this surface, so that there is a clearly recognizable brand that gradually moves upwards.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Bulk level indicator on collecting vessels in air conveyors for bulk material, characterized by a sight glass, on which the conveyed material entering the vessel is guided past by known guide means at high speed and thus cleans the sight glass.
