Fig. 3 zeigt die vollständig eingeschraubte Lampe.

sockets must be provided with a touch guard that prevents the person screwing in the lamp from touching the live parts when the contact closes. These demands are z. B. fulfilled by the known lamp sockets provided with a sliding protective ring and also by those sockets in which the socket casing is extended by such a length over the threaded basket that the current-carrying foot of the lamp base disappears into the socket casing before the lamp base touches the threaded basket.
To ensure reliable protection with these incandescent lamps, the lamp neck must be dimensioned in such a way that it fills the lower opening of the lamp socket before the contacts touch. In the case of lamps whose neck is not dimensioned so that it fills the socket casing, a solution was found by pushing a correspondingly shaped insulating ring onto the neck of the light bulb.
Even if the intended purpose is achieved by the devices mentioned, the socket with the movable protective ring has the disadvantage that it is complicated and expensive. The second type of contact protection, according to which the socket casing is extended by the length of the bulb base over the threaded basket, requires bulbs of a special shape that fill the socket casing before the contact closes in the lamp. The arrangement of an insulating ring on the neck of an ordinary incandescent lamp, however, has the disadvantage that one can never guarantee that the person who screws the incandescent lamp will actually push the protective ring onto the neck of the incandescent lamp beforehand.
In these cases there will still be accidents caused by touching the live parts when screwing in.
The invention solves the problem of touch protection in a simple and safe manner. The socket casing is extended by about the length of the bulb base beyond the threaded basket.
According to the invention, the lower edge of the extended socket jacket is flanged and carries an insulating ring that lies loosely in the socket jacket. With the invention, when the incandescent lamp is inserted at an angle, reliable protection against simultaneous contact with the threaded basket and the socket casing is achieved.
In the drawing, the invention is shown in one embodiment.

on the lower, beaded edge of the socket jacket a. According to Fig. 1, the lamp cap is just inserted into the socket. The insulating ring b remains in place until the lamp base c has been inserted so far that it comes into contact with the threaded basket. Now, as can be seen from FIG. 2, the insulating ring b is lifted up from the lamp when it is screwed in further. Fig. 3 shows the lamp completely screwed in. It can be seen from the three figures that reliable protection against contact with the live parts is guaranteed during the entire time that the incandescent lamp is screwed in.
