  Verfahren zum Verbinden von Leder mit Gummi durch Warm-vulkanisation. 



   Die Erfindung richtet sich auf die Vereinigung von Leder und Gummi durch Warmvulkanisation Diese Aufgabe löst die Erfindung in der Weise, dass für die Warmvulkanisierung solche Gummimischungen benutzt werden, denen sogenannte Vulkanisationsbeschleuniger zugesetzt sind. Mit Hilfe der Beschleuniger gelingt es, die innige Verbindung von Gummi und Leder durch Vulkanisation zu erzielen, ohne dass das Leder unzulässig leidet oder gar verbrennt. 



   Das Erzeugnis des Verfahrens ist umso besser, je kürzer die Vulkanisationszeit und je tiefer die Vulkanisationstemperatur ist, der das Leder ausgesetzt wird. Es versteht sich, dass ein Leder zu wählen ist, das eine gewisse Hitze verträgt, ohne brüchig zu werden. So eignet sich Chromleder besser als lohgares Leder, von letzterem eine fettfreie Ware besser als eine gewöhnliche Sorte. 



   Die Erzeugnisse sind der verschiedensten Anwendung fähig ; es gelingt z. B. auf diese Weise, Ledertreibriemen mit einer Gummischicht zu überziehen und sie dadurch   wasserunempfindlich   zu machen ; besonders günstig ist das Verfahren für die Herstellung von Sohlen oder Absätzen von Schuhwerk. Die mit der   Tretfläche   innig vereinigte Lederauflage lässt sich mit dem Leder des Schuhwerks durch Kleben mit Lederkitt gut wasserdicht und dauerhaft vereinigen, was gegenüber der Befestigung einer Gummisohle ohne Lederauflage einen erheblichen Fortschritt ergibt.

   The invention is directed to the combination of leather and rubber by hot vulcanization. The invention achieves this problem in such a way that rubber mixtures to which so-called vulcanization accelerators are added are used for hot vulcanization. With the help of accelerators, it is possible to achieve an intimate bond between rubber and leather through vulcanization without the leather suffering inadmissibly or even burning.



   The product of the process is the better the shorter the vulcanization time and the lower the vulcanization temperature to which the leather is exposed. It goes without saying that a leather should be selected that can withstand a certain amount of heat without becoming brittle. Chrome leather is better suited than tanned leather, and a fat-free product of the latter is better than an ordinary type.



   The products are capable of the most varied of uses; it succeeds z. B. in this way to cover leather drive belts with a rubber layer and thereby make them insensitive to water; The method is particularly favorable for the production of soles or heels of footwear. The leather overlay, which is intimately united with the tread, can be combined with the leather of the footwear by gluing it with leather putty so that it is watertight and durable, which is a considerable advance compared to the attachment of a rubber sole without a leather overlay.
