Automatic electrical switch in plug form with fuse.
The invention relates to a permanent electrical fuse in the form of a plug, which consists of a switch that triggers automatically in the event of an overload and a fuse, with the special feature that the automatic switch is dimensioned for the rated current of the plug and is set so that it can operate on the basis of practical experience or agreements or standards permissible current increases

Facilities cannot mutually damage one another through their interruptions.
The drawing shows various exemplary embodiments; the automatic switch is equipped with a hot wire release; however, a device operated electromagnetically or in some other way could also be used. 1 and 2, a plug with a tubular fuse is shown in two mutually perpendicular sections; 3 and 4 show a plug with a flat fuse and FIGS. 5 and 6 show a plug with a special protection device against the harmful effects of the switching light.
The plug according to FIGS. 1 and 2 consists of an insulating housing a with a metal thread b for screwing into the fuse element and with the center contact c. d is the lid that covers the cavity of the plug. A disk e made of insulating material and under the influence of a spring f is rotatably mounted in this cavity. In the current short position this spring f is stretched and

rail g stands. In the current connection position shown in FIG. 1, a metallic arm m rests on contact k, which rests resiliently on the edge of the pane and is attached to the foot of the plug, insulated from the other parts.
This contact arm m is extended upwards and electrically connected to a screw sleeve n seated in the cover d. Opposite this is a pan o, which is electrically connected to the metal thread b of the plug, fastened in such a way that a tubular fuse p is inserted into both can be. In the short-circuit position of the disk e, the current flow in the plug is as follows: The current flows from the center contact c via the hot wire h, the locking bar g, the support 1 into the interior of the disk e to the contact k and via the contact arm m to the sleeve n , through the fuse p to the external thread b.
If the switch is now overloaded, the hot wire h expands, the locking bar g bends and releases the switching disk e, which rotates under the action of the spring f, so that the contacts k-m are interrupted. The switching capacities of the automatic switch and the fuse p are now balanced against each other in such a way that the automatic switch is dimensioned for the rated current of the plug or for such increases that such a switch must withstand or switch off properly due to practical requirements.
On the other hand, the exchangeable fuse p is dimensioned for short-circuit or equivalent very high overloads, so that it is only

Exceptional cases come into effect, namely in cases of such an increase in current that would cause rapid heating of the switch parts with the consequence of destroying the switch. If z. If, for example, the Sieheruns- plug is intended for a nominal output of 6 amps and 550 volts, the automatic switch is dimensioned so that it switches off currents of 7-14 amps, while the fuse only melts in the event of higher overloads, especially in the event of short circuits and interrupts.
Because the fuse wire p is encased in a fire-proof tube q, the melting of the wire never has a damaging effect on the switch parts, nor can the switching flame of the switch affect the fuse wire. The melting cartridge is expediently equipped with a label of the uMiehen type at its upper end.
