Arrangement for lossless power control for electric heating devices.

It is known to keep the temperature constant in electrically heated apparatus. that the current is switched off by automatic devices as soon as the temperature exceeds a maximum limit and is only switched on again after a certain cooling has occurred.

This repeated exceeding of a maximum temperature and the subsequent cooling represent a discontinuity that is undesirable in many companies. It would be better to regulate the heating in such a way that there is an even supply of heat. However, this in turn has the disadvantage that throttling in ohmic resistances outside the heating apparatus is necessary, which means a noticeable loss of energy in larger companies. If alternating current is used for heating, you can avoid this loss by installing a step transformer or rotary transformer, but then you have to accept the cost of this transformer.

The invention now relates to an arrangement for lossless current control, which thereby

conductive, as in-Fig. 2 shows the development of the cylinder jacket shown. Let the hatched area represent the conductive part. While the brush 4 is dragging on it continuously, is the time during which the brush: 3 makes contact. depending on their position on the cylinder. This grinding brush is namely attached to a lever 5 which rotates around the pin 6 and to the one near the pivot point

Lever 5 to the left as soon as the temperature rises. The power interruption times then increase until temperature equilibrium has been reached.

There is no need to fear excessive spark formation when interrupting, since electrical heating resistors generally have no self-induction worth mentioning. When using alternating

Synchronous motor is driven. so that it keeps pace with the periods of the alternating current. It can then easily be arranged in such a way that the interruptions which take place at the edge 8, FIG. 2, fall at the point in time when the current passes through zero. Spark formation can then hardly occur at all.
