Switch with tripping by an overcurrent coil, its sensitivity
is changed by a thermostat partially bypassing the coil For normal
Versions of switches with overcurrent tripping are known to cope with
during the start-up process (e.g. when switching on motors) taps on the overcurrent coils
to be provided and to switch this into the line during the start-up process,
that the starting current only flows through the part of the coil reaching up to the tap.
With such an arrangement for circuit breakers with trip-free, the starting process,
even if the starting current increases up to six to seven times the normal current,
not bothered; the tap is just placed so that the sensitivity of the trip coil =
is correspondingly low during the switch-on process.
For operation, however, not only is the triggering device highly sensitive
required, but also required that the tripping current should change in such a way that
that the exceeding of a permissible temperature of the part to be protected
Investment is always avoided. Circuit breakers that use both
magnetic as well as heat sensitive release devices.
A known arrangement, which the already considered case of the high starting current
is taken into account, is that the part through which the starting current does not flow
the overcurrent coil is bridged by a thermostat switch. With such a
The device now exists as a result of the short-circuited contacts of the thermostat
in normal operation the same insensitivity of the coil as in the starting process.
Even in the operating position, the coil would only be triggered suddenly

In some cases it is not sufficient, since overloads of medium height, e.g.
B. occur from two to three times the operating current, in which during the
A sudden shutdown is also desirable during operation.
This requirement contradicts the one already mentioned, according to the
Starting up the sensitivity of the coil should be lower at higher loads.
ist Schalter i geöffnet.
Punkt i i kurzgeschlossen.
In seiner Anlaßstellung steht
Schalter i auf den Kontakten 8 und i i.
The resulting difficulties are now with a switch

As a result, the breaker trip device is not at all and
the switch supply and discharge lines are only drawn single-pole. The electrical energy
is supplied and discharged in the directions of the arrow. In the position shown in dotted lines
switch i is open. The overcurrent coil a with tap 3 starts at 4.

In the operating position, the switch rests on the two contacts 9 and io. The current

via the series resistor 7 and the thermostat 6 after the consumer. on
in this way the sensitivity of the coil is increased, e.g. B. corresponding to the z, 4 times
of the normal current. But if the thermostat switch 6 opens its contact, it flows
the entire current through the trip coil, which is therefore only about i, obis o.8 times
the normal current needs to be measured.
The execution of the thermostat switch itself and the supply of the
from the electricity -generated heat to affect this switch can be known designs

Contacts 13 are introduced. These open in the event of any overcurrent as soon as
an impermissible temperature occurs, namely by the fact that the bimetallic strip
14 bends against the resilient tongues 15. Not directly around the thermostat

so that the thermostat is not in the immediate vicinity of a live part of the

If the thermostat switch is accommodated, one is in such arrangements
at least bound to certain spatial conditions, so that if these are not available,
will advantageously use a thermostat switch with internal heating. This is
as is known, in the fact that on the bimetallic contact tongue one of the current or
a part of the same through-flow heating coil is attached insulated.
