Process for the simultaneous killing of bacteria and vermin.

Up to now, no method has become known which simultaneously kills bacteria and vermin in one operation. d. H. made possible by a one-time treatment of the space in question, rather one always had to take into account in order to achieve the desired purpose
 EMI1.1
can be achieved by using formaldehyde and hydrogen cyanide or its derivatives. z. B. acetonitrile or mixtures of the possible cyano compound at ordinary or reduced pressure simultaneously applies.

In carrying out the process, the usual methods of cyanide fumigation or formaldehyde gasification are used, with the proviso that the space to be cleared of bacteria and vermin is treated with both gases at the same time. To eliminate dangers. one advantageously also performs suitable fragrances such. B. Chlorinated esters, which are intended to serve as a warning to the Gernchsinn, in the zn treatment room.
 EMI1.2
the same or the mixture of active gases or vapors: one can also use cyanide derivatives with particular advantage, or also use them, which are effective and at the same time have the ability. Trigger irritant effects. Has proven to be excellent, for.

   B. the carbon cyan
 EMI1.3
Form nitrile, which is a liquid body. But now. as is also known. for formaldehyde gasification always one. in the highest case. 20% formaldehyde solution applied. because if the water content falls below this, the desired effects are not achieved. Since even with

   B. advantageously evaporate 10% formaldehyde solution). Thus, compared to the separate use of formaldehyde and hydrocyanic acid, there was a deterioration in the effect due to the formation of glycolonitrile. G. as well as binding of gaseous hydrocyanic acid through the water introduced into the R @. But such a situation occurs too quickly. Mendelines aren't t'in.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
 EMI1.5
that hydrogen cyanide or its derivatives or mixtures of the aforementioned substances are allowed to act on the pests to be controlled in conjunction with formaldehyde under normal or reduced pressure.
