    Scheidenspekulum.

    Vaginal speculum.

A distinction can be made between two systems among electric silk lights, depending on whether the lamp is located at the front or the rear end of the vaginal speculum. The former expose the lamp to the disadvantages of soiling from rinsing water and vaginal modifications, and also impede the use of instruments, which can also easily damage the lamp. The storage of the lamp at the entrance of the vaginal speculum in turn avoids the disadvantages mentioned, but has the disadvantage that with the common multi-leaf speculis, the lamp attached to them is constantly moved out of its position by the spreading of the leaves
 EMI1.1
 has passed.

According to the invention, the deficiency inherent in the second system is compensated for. that the lamp is no longer rigid, but hinged at the entrance of the speculum. so that one is able to counter any change in the leaf position by changing the lamp position accordingly and thus constantly directing the light rays emanating from the lamp to the desired place.

The accompanying drawing shows an example embodiment of the invention, u. between its application to a three-leaved speculum. As can be seen from the figure, the whole

The condenser is designed to amplify the light emanating from the lamp and shape it into a straight cone of light. The ball joint allows free movement of the
