there is the possibility of making the hydrofluoric acid vapor which still escapes during this work harmless by suction in a very simple manner and thus to ensure hygienically perfect operation.

Instead of letting the sulfuric acid soak up with anhydrous gypsum or the like and only then mix it with the fluoride (fluorspar) to be decomposed, it is advantageous to stir the latter into the appropriate amount of sulfuric acid and allow this mixture of anhydrous calcium sulfate or the like to be soaked up. It is advisable to leave this process in the socket provided with a stirrer! go by itself and then carry out the calcination with stirring.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A process for the production of hydrofluoric acid from natural fluorides, in particular fluorspar, and sulfuric acid in uninterrupted operations, characterized in that the sulfuric acid in the form of sulfuric acid monohydrate can be absorbed by such amounts of anhydrous calcium sulfate or other suitable solid substances that a dry, powdery Mass is formed and the decomposition of the fluoride by the sulfuric acid is allowed to proceed in a suitable oven with mechanical stirring of the reaction mixture.

Claims (1)

2. Embodiment of the method according to patent claim l, characterized in that the sulfuric acid or the like is first allowed to soak up anhydrous calcium sulphate, the corresponding amounts of fluoride, preferably fluorspar, are added to the resulting powder and the reaction mixture is added for the purpose of uninterrupted implementation of the reaction calcined in a muffle furnace with mechanical stirrer. 3. 3. Embodiment according to patent claim l, characterized in that mixtures of fluoride and sulfuric acid are treated with such amounts of sulfuric acid absorbing solids that a dry, powdery mass is formed and the mixture according to claims l and 2 is further treated. 4. 4. Embodiment of the method according to patent claims l-3, characterized in that the suction of the mixture of fluoride and sulfuric acid, which is expediently prepared in the equivalent ratio, by anhydrous calcium sulfate or the like in the furnace itself, expediently in a muffle furnace provided with a stirrer, he follows.
