Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 EMI1.1

 EMI1.1

The invention relates to a color-sensitive photographic composition of a different type or greater color sensitivity than the compositions previously known.
 EMI1.2
of a dye of the auramine or iminodiphenyl class (i.e. S @ bstit @ tion derivatives of benzophenonine @ d).
 EMI1.3
depending on the desired effect. For example, with pinacyanol, increased sensitivity for red and green is obtained and at the same time a new type of sensitivity for deep red is achieved. which is unreachable when using pinaeyanol alone.
 EMI1.4
 Ingredient to be effective.

The usual modifications, which consist of replacing some water with alcohol and adding some ammonia, are applicable to the bathing process.

The use of dyes of the isocyanate class for color-sensitive photographic compositions is known, as is the use of auramine as an additive for orthochromatic photographic emulsions for the purpose of producing a self-shielding orthochromatic plate by reducing the sensitivity to blue light.

When two dyes are used at the same time. thus the usual effect is that a plate is obtained with properties corresponding to both dyes, although often the effect of one or the other is markedly reduced. According to the present invention, however, the type of sensitivity is changed and improved by the compounds of auramine and pinacyanol and other compounds of these two classes. In any case, this sensitivity is not of the kind that could be expected from the outset, and is usually considerably greater than the sum of the effects
