Ignition device with direct current source.
The usual ignitions with direct current as an energy source suffer from the fact that the higher the number of revolutions of the explosion engine, there is a decrease in the ignition energy of the high-voltage circuit. The main reason is that with a high number of toms, the closing time of the primary circuit is too short compared to that time. which the field needs for direct current in a circuit with self-induction in order to achieve a value high enough for the ignition voltage in the secondary circuit. The invention described below is intended to remedy this disadvantage.
As the figure shows, the entire ignition consists of the following parts: a primary circuit, an auxiliary circuit and a secondary high-voltage ignition circuit.

High voltage transformer. The auxiliary circuit consists of a few turns of a short-circuit winding K, which is connected to contact k2 of the interrupter. The secondary circuit consists of the secondary winding S of the high voltage transformer, the distributor V. of the reserve sparks / ''

The mode of operation of the double-acting interrupter is known per se, insofar as it relates to the primary and the secondary high-voltage circuit, and a further description can be dispensed with. The essence of the invention lies in the short-circuit winding. In contrast to the

Circuit is known to be spark-extinguishing, the effect of the short-circuit or auxiliary winding mentioned is that it has an accelerating effect when the field is built up. It only has a temporal effect and therefore has no influence on the size of the field, which is only caused by the steady-state value of the direct current.
When the primary circuit P closes, the auxiliary circuit K is closed at the same time. It acts as a short-circuit acceleration circuit. The harmful effect of self-induction, which delays the increase in the primary current. is prevented by the mutual induction of the short-circuited auxiliary circuit. The resulting self-induction is therefore significantly smaller than if only the primary circuit were present alone, and the time constant is therefore also smaller. The field thus reaches its steady-state value earlier than without a short-circuit winding. Primary field is present in its full strength and the current in the auxiliary circuit has decayed. When the primary circuit is interrupted, if there is no short-circuited auxiliary circuit, the disappearance of the field would probably also be accelerated, but at the expense of the field energy; because only part of it would be transferred to the high-voltage ignition circuit, the other part would be lost in the auxiliary circuit in ohmic heat. To prevent this, the second contact of the sub-screech U
