   Die Heizflüssigkeiten müssen folgende Eigenschaften besitzen :
1. einen Siedepunkt, der höher liegt-als die Temperatur des jeweils zur Verwendung kommenden Dampfes ;
2. Beständigkeit gegenüber den vorkommenden Temperaturen   ;  
3. ein chemisch neutrales, inactivcs Verhalten gegenüber den Metallen, mit denen sie in Berührung kommen. 



   Durch eine Vereinigung aller dieser eigenschaften empfiehlt sich besonders das Paraffin (Sdp. 350-400   Grad),   bezw. das   Paraffinöl.   



   Wählt man feste Stoffe als   Wärmezwischenleiter,   so muss die darin eingebettete Heizschlange ebenso wie der   lnnencylinder   zugleich mit dem Hauptcylinder drehbar sein. Es sind dann   dampfdichto   Verbindungen bekannter Art sowohl auf der Einströmungs-als auch auf der   Ausströmungsseite   des Dampfes zwischen den feststehenden und den sich drehenden Enden der   Heizröhrenloitung   herzustellen. 



   An Stolle von   gesättigtem   Dampf, wie er jetzt wohl ausnahmslos zur Heizung der Trockencylinder Verwendung findet, kann auch überhitzter Dampf, heisse Luft, Elektricität, kurz jede beliebige   Wärmequelle   nach diesem Verfahren nutzbar gemacht werden. 



   Dieses Verfahren, für welches sich auch die Trockencylinder bisheriger Construction unschwer einrichten lassen, gewährleistet eine vollkommen ungefährliche, explosionssichere   Cylinderheizung.   Da dabei kein Druck im Innern des Cylinders mehr entstehen kann, se bietet es für neu darnach zu erbauende Trockencylinder noch folgende weitere Vortheile gegenüber der jetzt   gebräuchlichen   Construction :

   The heating fluids must have the following properties:
1. a boiling point that is higher than the temperature of the steam used in each case;
2. Resistance to the occurring temperatures;
3. a chemically neutral, inactive behavior towards the metals with which they come into contact.



   Due to the combination of all these properties, paraffin (bp. 350-400 degrees) is particularly recommended, respectively. the paraffin oil.



   If solid materials are chosen as intermediate heat conductors, the heating coil embedded in it and the inner cylinder must be rotatable at the same time as the main cylinder. There are then vapor-tight connections of a known type both on the inflow and on the outflow side of the steam between the fixed and rotating ends of the heating tube.



   Using this method, superheated steam, hot air, electricity, in short, any heat source, can be made usable on stolle of saturated steam, as it is now used without exception to heat the drying cylinder.



   This process, for which the drying cylinders of previous construction can also be easily set up, ensures a completely harmless, explosion-proof cylinder heating.
